Chapter 4
“I want him to leave with nothing.“]
Even I was surprised when those words came out of my mouth.]
Oliver looked up at me, his eyes probing: “You sure about that?“[]
I nodded.
He suddenly smiled: “You’re taking this pretty well.“[]
I set down my coffee cup and looked at him.[]
“It’s not about taking it well. I’m just done making myself miserable.“[]
“Three years of marriage, and I had to sneak around buying a dildo just to spare his ego.“[]
“Looking back, it’s fucking ridiculous.“]
Oliver’s expression got a little weird: “A dildo?“[]
I said matter–of–factly. “I’m a normal woman with normal needs. Is that weird?“||
Oliver coughed and changed the subject: “I agree with you.“[]
I blinked: “Huh?“]
He repeated: “My brother wronged you. He deserves to leave with nothing.”
I suddenly felt my nose sting.
So there really was someone who understood my anger and frustration.]
And this person actually was my husband’s older brother.
That made it even more depressing.[]
“Honey, you’re moving out?“]
Milo watched me pack, panic creeping into his voice.[]
I didn’t look up: “What else? Stick around to watch you two lovebirds?“[]
“I…” He hesitated.
“Maybe… maybe I should move out instead?“]
I smiled sweetly: “Don’t bother. This place disgusts me now, just like you do.“]
He was quiet for a moment: “I’m sorry…”
I rolled my eyes: “If you’re really sorry, just sign the divorce papers.“[]
Chapter 4
Milo’s face changed: “Don’t push it!“]]
I raised an eyebrow: “I’m pushing it? Fine, see you in court then.“]
He stormed out and slammed the door.
I kept packing. When I got to the nightstand, I found a stack of receipts and shopping slips.
Not a bad habit, actually – keeping every receipt.[]
I flipped through them casually and instantly went into shock.
Louis Vuitton bags? Hermès scarves? Cartier bracelets?]
None of this stuff was cheap.[]
Looking at the dates more carefully – all from the past three years of our marriage.]
I burst out laughing
This idiot had kept evidence of every gift he bought Gina.]
“Thanks, honey,” I said to myself, grinning.
e.”
“This is your last gift to me.‘
I pulled out my phone and photographed every single receipt, then sent them to Oliver.
Oliver texted back quickly. [He’s digging his own grave.]]]
Me: [Yeah, such a thoughtful husband even collect all his affair evidence for me.]]
Oliver: [You packing up?]]
Me: [Yep, moving out.]]]
–
Oliver: [I’m downstairs waiting for you.]]
I was surprised and looked out the window. Sure enough, Oliver’s car was parked below.
When did he get here?]]
After finishing packing, I went downstairs to find Oliver leaning against his car smoking.
“How’d you get here so fast?” I was surprised.[]
He stubbed out his cigarette: “Thought you might need help moving.“[]
I didn’t know what to say, so I changed the subject: “Did you see those receipts?”
He took my suitcase.
“He spent a fortune on Gina these past three years.“]]
Yeah.” I laughed bitterly.[]
“No wonder he said he couldn’t afford to buy me a dildo – he was too busy buying luxury shit for someone else.“]
Oliver coughed again: “Could you stop bringing up the dildo thing?“]
“Why? It’s totally normal.” I blinked innocently.]]
Oliver went quiet, but his ears turned a little red.]
I suddenly realized what was happening and laughed even harder: “Oh my god, Oliver, are you blushing?”
‘Get in the car.” His voice was cold.]
I suppressed my laughter and slid into the passenger seat. After buckling my seatbelt, I asked: “Where to?“]
‘Hotel.” He started the engine.]]
‘I booked you a room.”
