Late at night, my phone started buzzing like crazy.]
I was lying in the hotel bed scrolling through tiktok when I saw it was Gina calling. I almost burst out laughing.
Couldn’t hold it in anymore, huh?]
“Hello?” I answered lazily.[]
“Rita Collins! How can you be so fucking greedy?!“[]
Gina’s voice was shrill and grating.[]
I yawned: “You’re calling this late just to tell me that?“]
“What gives you the right to demand Milo leave with nothing? Do you know that everything he bought me these three years came from his own salary? Fine, you want the house and car, but what gives you the right to demand those things too?“]
Linstantly snapped awake.]
Holy shit, she was basically doing my lawyer’s job for me.]
I quickly hit speakerphone and started recording.]
“So you’re admitting that all those things were bought by my husband for you?“]
The other end went silent for a few seconds.]
I kept pouring gas on the fire:]
“Gina, thanks so much for giving me such detailed info about where all this stuff came from.”

“Oh, and you just said my husband used his salary to buy them – how much was he giving you every month?“]
Gina obviously realized she’d said too much.
“Don’t try to get me to say more!“]]
“Don’t need to.” I smiled sweetly.[]
“You just confessed everything yourself. Want me to play back what you just said?“[]
“You… you recorded that?”
Her voice started shaking.
I rolled my eyes: “Duh, I’m not an idiot.“[]
Gina completely panicked: “Don’t… do anything crazy…“)
“Then get those things ready.” I kindly reminded her.

“Otherwise, I’ll just have to post this recording online.“[]
“Let everyone hear how a married woman brazenly admits to accepting luxury gifts from her brother–in–law.“[]
“You…“]]
I cut her off: “It’s getting late. Remember to get everything ready – I’m sending someone to pick them up tomorrow.“]
I hung up and immediately sent the recording to Oliver.]
Oliver replied instantly: [Nicely done]]
I put down my phone and lay in bed laughing uncontrollably.
What an unexpected bonus.]
I’d been worried about how to prove Milo bought all those luxury items.[]
Never expected Gina to just walk right into my trap.[]
With that level of intelligence, no wonder I could play her so easily.[]
I closed my eyes contentedly.
Tonight I’m gonna sleep so well.[]

Seeing Milo’s text, I snorted.
What’s this? Trying the sweet approach after the tough guy act failed?
“Sure, you pick the place.”
I agreed readily, then texted Oliver:
“Your brother wants to negotiate. Want to come along?“]
Oliver replied quickly: “Time and place.“[]
I forwarded the restaurant address Milo had sent, and Oliver just replied with “OK.“[]
God, this man barely says two words at a time.]]
