Chapter 1
For seven years, I thought I had the perfect life: America’s top CEO husband, head–over–heels for me.
Then the storm hit. His car crashed. He woke up… changed.]
By day? My gentle, loving husband. []
By night? Obsessed with her
the new intern.]
I tried everything. Every doctor, every hope, shattered.]]
Until I heard him say: “Faking a split personality? Exhausting. But worth it to ditch my boring wife for a hot new toy.“[]
My world imploded. Seven years, a lie. I walked out, numb.]
I collided with a wall of tailored suit – my former boss, the billionaire above my ex on Forbes.
His arms locked around me. “I’ll help you crush that bastard,But my price…“]]
“…is you. As my wife.“]
“Hahaha, Matteo! You slept with Joannie once a few months ago and couldn’t get her out of your head, right? Staging a car crash and split personality just to keep screwing her? That’s some next–level scheming.“]
“Can’t help it. She knows exactly how to please a man in bed,” Matteo Jackson chuckled low. “Any guy would be hooked.“[]
Each word sliced through Yunia Bolden’s heart like a blade.[]
She bit down hard on her lip, tasting blood as it spread across her tongue But even that metallic tang couldn’t drown out the agony ripping through her chest.
Everything had been a lie.
The crash was fake. The split personality was fake. Even his so–called devoted “love” was fake.
She’d thought he was sick. She’d searched for doctors, begged specialists, spent sleepless nights crying at his bedside. But he’d only been craving some young girl’s body, shamelessly deceiving her![]
“How long are you planning to keep this up? What if Yunia finds out?”
“She won’t.” Matteo’s voice carried absolute certainty. “I’ll play around for a few more months, then pay Joannie off and send her abroad. After that, I’ll tell Yunia I’m cured and ready to be a devoted husband again.“]
“Damn, you’re cold… If it were me, I’d just fake it forever. Yunia’s gorgeous, but you’ve been hitting that for seven years. Aren’t you bored?”
Matteo released a low laugh and exhaled smoke. “Completely bored. That’s why I’m hunting for some excitement on the side.“[]
Yunia’s world collapsed in that instant.
She remembered eighteen–year–old Matteo blushing under fireworks, saying, “Yunia, I’ll love you forever.“]]
His eyes had been crystal clear then. He’d trembled just holding her hand.[]
She remembered him kneeling during his proposal, saying marrying her would be his life’s greatest happiness. He’d held her so carefully, promising to treasure her forever.[]
Now, at twenty–eight, he called her boring.]
Yunia felt her soul being torn apart.
Why deceive her so cruelly? Why trample her devotion in such a vicious way?
She’d told him lies were the one thing she could never forgive.]]
These past six months, she’d been a complete fool. Crying herself dry, begging every specialist, even kneeling and pleading when his “alternate personality” appeared.]
All of it just an elaborate con. A sick game so he could sleep with another woman.[]
Yunia couldn’t take anymore. She staggered away, desperate to escape–and crashed straight into someone.
Joannie wore a tight mini dress, her makeup flawless. Seeing Yunia, her red lips curved into a smirk. “Well, well. If it isn’t Sister Yunia. What’s this? Playing devoted wife again?”
Yunia ignored her, trying to leave.
Joannie deliberately stuck out her foot. Yunia crashed hard to the floor, her knees slamming against the cold tiles.
“Oops! How clumsy!” Joannie gasped in mock surprise, her voice dripping with malice. “Getting old and can’t even walk straight?” Yunia looked up, glaring.]
Joannie leaned down, whispering in her ear: “Matteo says he only wants me now. Take the hint and get lost, you discarded wife.“[] Discarded wife. The words stabbed straight through Yunia’s heart.]
For six months, she’d endured Joannie’s provocations, Matteo’s coldness, every humiliation this marriage had thrown at her.
She’d always endured. But today? Today she was done.
SLAP!
The sound echoed through the hallway as Yunia’s palm connected with Joannie’s cheek.
Joannie clutched her face, eyes wide with shock. “You hit me?!”
“So what if I did?” Yunia’s voice shook, but each word came out clear. “Do I need to pick a special day to slap a bitch?”
Joannie’s eyes instantly filled with tears.
She was about to explode when the hospital room door opened–Matteo walked out.
“Matteo!” Joannie threw herself into his arms, tears flowing on command. “Yunia hit me!“]]
Chapter 1
Matteo’s gaze fell on Yunia, his eyes turning glacial. “Why did you hit her?“[]
Yunia watched him protectively hold Joannie, her heart feeling like it was being ripped open.[]
“She tripped me and called me a discarded wife. One slap seems pretty reasonable.“[]
Matteo’s lips parted, delivering two ice–cold words: “Apologize.”
“No.”
“Yunia, don’t be unreasonable.” His tone was arctic.
Joannie tugged at his sleeve, sobbing: “It hurts, Matteo. I want to hit her back!“]
Matteo nodded, raising his hand in signal.]]
Two bodyguards immediately stepped forward, restraining Yunia from both sides.[]
“Matteo!” Yunia struggled futilely, her eyes blazing. “Are you insane?!”
Joannie smugly raised her hand. Several slaps landed across Yunia’s face without hesitation.[]
Burning pain spread instantly. Blood seeped from the corner of her mouth before Matteo finally spoke: “Enough.“[]
Joannie pouted pitifully, showing him her reddened palm. “My hand hurts from hitting her…”
Matteo took her hand, pressing a gentle kiss to her palm. “Don’t do it yourself next time. What if you get hurt?“]
Yunia watched this scene through dizzy eyes, her heart going numb with pain.
Her husband worried about his mistress’s sore hand but ignored his wife’s injured face?!
“Matteo…” Her voice came out hoarse. “Have you forgotten the vows you made at our wedding?“|[]
Matteo paused, then replied coldly: “Those promises came from my main personality, not me. I only love Joannie. You don’t interest me.”
Joannie smiled triumphantly, deliberately adding: “Matteo, I already booked the hotel. Last time’s outfits weren’t enough, so I prepared lots more. Every style you can imagine… I’ll make sure you have a great time.”
Matteo chuckled low. “Let’s go.”
They left in each other’s arms, their intimate silhouettes painful to watch.
Yunia collapsed to the floor, trembling all over.
Matteo’s friends rushed over to help her up. “Yunia, don’t take it to heart. Matteo’s in his alternate personality right now–he only likes Joannie. Once his main personality returns, everything will be fine…“)
“Yeah, you two have over a decade of history together. Just wait a little longer. He’s just temporarily confused…“[]
Yunia touched her bleeding lip, tears streaming down her face.[]
“I don’t want to wait anymore.“[]
Chapter 1
They thought she was just venting, still trying to comfort her: “Don’t be impulsive. Once he recovers, everything will go back to how it
was.”
Yunia said nothing more.
They put her in a car, instructing the driver to take her home.
But after driving a short distance, Yunia spoke quietly: “Take me to Dongsheng Law Firm.“[]
Thirty minutes later, Yunia sat across from a lawyer at Eastern Law Firm.[]
“I need you to draft a divorce agreement. Between Yunia Bolden and Matteo Jackson.“[]
The lawyer hesitated. “Does… does CEO Jackson know about this?“]
Yunia’s lips curved in a bitter smile, her voice resolute: “He’ll know soon enough.“]
