Chapter 12
Outside the airplane window, clouds rolled like waves as Yunia pressed her forehead against the cold window. The circulating air conditioning in the cabin gave her comfort.[]
Closing her eyes, her mind filled with images of Matteo holding Joannie as they walked away together.]
Though she had let go, Yunia had to admit-[]
Thinking of those seven years still brought an inexplicable pain to her heart.[]
After being with Matteo for so long, he had even devised this scheme just to have an affair openly.[]
When she first found out, her heart ached unbearably.
Later, when she learned it was all a lie, Yunia found it utterly laughable from the bottom of her heart.[]
The person she had felt so sorry for… was actually just deceiving her.[]
Her fingertips unconsciously rubbed the ring mark on her ring finger, where the skin was no longer indented, much like their crumbling marriage.[]
“Beautiful lady, would you do me the honor of getting acquainted? I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before.“[]
Suddenly, a greasy face popped up from the front row. A pot–bellied middle–aged man with a crooked tie leered at her neckline:[]
“I have connections at the airline company, so booking tickets will be more convenient in the future. I see you’re traveling alone too, so why not be friends? More friends, more opportunities.“[]
“No thank you.“[]
Yunia shrank toward the window after speaking, hugging the blanket on her lap tighter, trying to create some distance from the man.[]
But the man became even more aggressive, his thick palm brushing over her hand as his foul breath nearly reached her ear: “Don’t be so cold. When you’re away from home, you shouldn’t shut people out like this.“[]
Before Yunia could respond, the sound of metal clashing suddenly rang out.[]
Dark gray suit buttons swept past the seat gap as a hand with distinct knuckles gripped the man’s wrist.
Two black–clad bodyguards stood behind the man like towers, a cold aura instantly enveloping the entire cabin.[]
The man looked up with a pale face, meeting the cold gaze behind the other man’s glasses: “This lady has already said she’s not interested. You shouldn’t force the issue.“]
“Or would you prefer I throw you off the plane?“]
Yunia tremblingly looked up to see the stern profile of the man in front of her.[]
…Zayn Ravenish?
Chairman of Stellar Aviation, Chairman of the Global Airline Alliance, head of the Ravenish family–the world’s wealthiest family, and her… former boss?!]
When Zayn released his grip, he deliberately pulled out a silk handkerchief to wipe his fingertips, his movements elegantly harsh.]
Chapter 12
Seeing the situation, the man scrambled back to his seat.[]
“S–sorry…!”
A flight attendant hurried over to inquire about the situation.[]
But Zayn had already turned to hand her a tissue: “When you encounter people like that, you should be firm. Otherwise, they’ll just think you’re easy to bully.“[]
“Thank you.”
Yunia pretended not to recognize him, quietly saying thanks, but her eyes didn’t linger on him.[]
Zayn stared at the ring mark on her ring finger, smiled meaningfully, and returned to first class.
Amid the engine’s roar, as the plane broke through the clouds, Yunia looked at the blinding sunlight outside and remembered not long ago.
Not long ago, when boarding the plane, she had removed the wedding ring that had once never left her finger and would never be worn again, throwing it into the trash without a second thought.[]
This ring was something she had specially prepared for their wedding. From design to material selection to final production, she had personally supervised every step.
Matteo had been very surprised when he received it, promising he would treasure their relationship.[]
She had always believed those words, right up until now.
But he had broken his promise.
The clouds outside the window shifted between light and dark, but Yunia’s heart was crystal clear.
