Chapter 13
On the way back to first class, Zayn’s gaze behind his glasses was dark and unreadable, his entire demeanor carrying an air of detachment.
Two bodyguards followed behind him like shadows, radiating an aura that warned others to keep their distance.
After more than four hours, the plane finally landed. As the taxiing ended and the landing lights came on, Yunia had just stood up when she saw the two bodyguards had already efficiently retrieved her luggage, respectfully wheeling it in front of her.
Zayn leaned against the cabin door, casually rubbing his watch.[]
Watching her take her luggage, the man’s tall figure disappeared at the end of the jet bridge.
Yunia was somewhat curious. When she worked at Stellar Aviation, she had almost no contact with this CEO. Shortly after she left, she heard he had gone abroad and hadn’t seen him since, only catching glimpses of him in news reports.
Perhaps this CEO Ravenish… wasn’t as unapproachable as she had imagined? At least he was quite gentlemanly.
Outside the airport, Yunia called an Uber.]
The car stopped in front of a standalone villa in the suburbs, its wrought iron gate covered with climbing vines.]
Yunia paused before pushing open the gate.[]
This white villa was an eighteenth birthday gift from her aunt, and after deciding to flee America, it was the first place she thought of–completely hers, untouched by outsiders, a sanctuary.[]
Although she had never lived here, the house was clean and tidy, clearly maintained by someone.[]
But Yunia had a lot of luggage, and she spent the entire afternoon organizing her things.[]
Sweat soaked through her shirt, but she felt remarkably refreshed.[]
Suddenly she noticed a photo hanging on the wall. In it, her aunt had her arm around a ponytailed version of herself, both smiling with crescent–shaped eyes.[]
Yunia instinctively pulled out her phone to take a picture as a memento.[]
Her phone vibrated at that moment, her aunt’s voice message carrying familiar concern: “Have you landed? Yunia, if there’s anything about the house you’re not satisfied with, you must tell me.‘
“I’ve arrived, Aunt. The house is perfect.“]
“By
the way, I remember you studied design. Claude Design Company is hiring designers right now. My friend works there–why don’t you go for an interview tomorrow?“]
Yunia opened the information her aunt had sent. The golden script “Claude” on the screen made her breath catch.]
This company was top–tier in the industry–countless designers would kill to get in.[]
It was also a company she had always wanted to try.]

Her fingertip gently traced across the screen as she looked at the darkening sky outside and softly replied: “Okay.“[]
A breeze blew through, bringing a touch of coolness and dispersing the gloom that had been weighing on her heart.[]
