I Woke Up As A Corpse 10

Chapter 10

That afternoon, the butler Gideon quietly passed me a message.

The moment I heard it, I almost laughed out loud.

Seraphina, your reckoning is finally here.

I told Gideon to head to the military camp and inform the General-“The bird’s in the cage.”

The General rode back like hell was on his heels.

The maid called both me and Seraphina into the main hall.

As soon as she saw the General, Seraphina flung herself at him like some desperate little butterfly.

He shoved her so hard she hit the floor.

‘You hiding something from me?”

His voice was ice, eyes locked on her crumpled figure.

Seraphina’s lip trembled, and the tears came instantly.

‘General, I only just escaped that monster’s hands a few days ago.”

I still wake up shaking… Why would I ever lie to you?”

f I hadn’t seen her true face with my own eyes, even I might’ve believed her.

The General nodded to Captain Silas, who dragged the man into the room.

Seraphina’s pupils widened the second she saw his face.

A few days ago, I’d asked the General to track someone down for me.

t was Luke-the same bastard who’d helped her try to ruin me.

The General originally wanted to ship Seraphina off to a brothel in the southern territories.

But that was too easy.

After what she did to me in my past life, I’m not letting her off with a slap on the wrist.

So I told the General to fake affection toward her-to let her guard down while we quietly hunted Luke.

Once we found him, everything would come to light.

urns out luck was on our side.

One of our soldiers spotted Luke drunk off his ass at a high-end brothel.

Captain Silas nabbed him mid-orgy.

At first, Luke refused to admit he even knew Seraphina.

He knew damn well lying to the crown was treason.

But once Silas got to work on him, he cracked like dry timber.

The truth poured out of him.
