They looked at each other, their faces pale. Jason, the leader of the pack, immediately called Finn.

Finn, who was at the venue inspecting the setup, felt his eyelid twitching uncontrollably as his phone rang. He pressed his finger to his eye and answered.
“Finn, we have a problem,..”
“Hey! Spit it out! It’s my wedding day! Say something lucky!”
Jason was near tears, but he braced himself. “Finn, Elvira never moved in here. And the neighbor said she threw away everything from your six years together, even the albums and wedding photos!”
“What? Impossible! Elvira said she bought a beachfront villa. She must have moved everything there!”
“Dude, you should have said so earlier! You scared us half to death. Send us the address. We’ll take the dress to her.”
On the other end of the line, Finn froze.
He realized he had no idea where my beachfront villa was.
Finn pulled some strings and checked the property records under my name. He found nothing. I owned no property. Even our form-
er apartment was no longer in my name.

He finally realized the depth of the trouble he was in. He frantically tried to leave the hotel.
Lara, wearing a stunning white wedding dress, appeared out of nowhere and blocked his way at the entrance.
“Finn, honey, Elvira is just mad that you made her donate blood. A woman that petty doesn’t deserve you.”

“The ceremony is about to start. All the guests are waiting. Why don’t you marry me instead? I promise to take care of you and
please you forever!”
Her hand snaked down to his lower abdomen, tracing circles. Normally, Finn would have been hooked instantly, ready to take her
right there. But today, he slapped her hand away, his face expressionless.
“Lara, I made myself clear. From today onwards, we are strangers. If you cause Elvira to refuse to marry me, I won’t hesitate to tell
your father where you are.”
Lara’s eyes reddened, and she burst into theatrical tears. “Finn, do you really not have any feelings for me? When you said you wan-
ted to die inside me, was that a lie too?”

ars anymore. Desperate to get home, he shoved her to the ground.
“My wife can only be Elvira!”
“I’m going to get her now. Do me a favor and disappear from my li
my life.”
The cold, ruthless Finn kicked away the clinging Lara and sped off. He ran a dozen red lights getting back to the apartment compl- ex, his legs trembling with panic.
The security footage was crystal clear. The cleaner, throwing away the garbage bags. The things I had treasured, discarded without a second thought.
It felt like a thousand arrows piercing his heart. He clutched his chest, his face pale, and tried to call me.
No one answered.
He opened his messaging app and realized he hadn’t spoken to me in seventeen days. Seventeen days of indulging in every carnal pleasure, completely forgetting that I even existed in his life. If it weren’t for the reminder on his calendar last night, he wouldn’t even have remembered he was supposed to get married.
Even though he was reluctant to give up Lara, he decided to go through with the wedding as planned. After all, these seventeen days had been the most exhilarating of his life, and my obedience deserved the reward of a timely wedding.
But now, looking at the empty apartment, he had no idea what to do.
