In the frame, she no longer had her previous vigor. Her face showed signs of weariness.

She smiled and held up a ring box, waving it in front of the camera.
“You’ve always complained that I won’t marry you, right? This time, when you come back, I’ll propose to you.”
“The flowers are white tulips, your favorite. The ring is a custom DR, only one can be made for each person.”
“I’ve even called reporters, planning to put the proposal video online.”

I looked at the large patch of blooming tulips behind her.
This time she hadn’t gotten it wrong, tulips were indeed my favorite flower.
But white tulips symbolize pure, unblemished love. Seeing these flowers now, I only felt irony.
“I’m not planning to come back,” I said calmly to her.
“Not coming back?” Fiona was stunned for a moment, then sighed, “I knew it, you’re still angry.”
“Alright then, I’ll come find you. We’ll have the proposal ceremony abroad.”
