Dylan slowly got up, wincing from the pain, and glanced coldly at Aiden’s arm around me. His smirk was full of contempt.
“So, you’ve got yourself a random guy now, huh? You really don’t care what people think, bold and out of control!”
Rachel stepped forward, faking concern.
“Kaylee, please ask him to leave. If you keep acting this way, Mr. Gabbard will only get angrier.”
And yet it was Dylan who betrayed me first. He was the one who had an affair and even had a child with her.
And now they were turning things around and blaming me for being unreasonable?
I clenched my fists and locked eyes with Dylan.
“Get out. I let it go because you helped save my mom, but don’t think I forgot what you did.”
Dylan scoffed and pulled Rachel into his arms, acting like he didn’t care at all.
“You’re trying to argue with me? Here’s the deal, Kaylee–this is your last chance. Take Rachel in and we’ll still get married and live a peaceful life.
“Or walk away forever and don’t come crying back.”
He still thought I was the same weak girl who used to chase after him.

Like he could just call me whenever he felt like it.
Aiden’s hand remained protectively around my waist as he spoke in a calm tone, “Mr. Gabbard, don’t overestimate yourself. The wedding. invitations from the Winslow family and the Lesnar family were already sent out yesterday.”
Dylan quickly pulled out his phone and checked the family group chat. It was full of messages, with everyone asking questions about my wedding
to him.
He stared at me, clearly shocked, with disbelief written all over his face.
“Kaylee, you…”
I called over a store assistant and looked directly at Dylan.
“Please have Mr. Gabbard cover the cost of the ruined wedding gown.”
I didn’t want to give him the chance to act dramatic or emotional.
Feeling drained, I changed out of the gown and left the bridal shop with Aiden.
Dylan ran after me.
He grabbed my arm tightly, speaking through clenched teeth. “Kaylee, who said you could switch grooms out of nowhere?
“Have you and that guy been secretly seeing each other?”
I yanked my arm free, slapped him across the face, and answered coldly, “Dylan, I’m not like you. I still have decency and respect for myself.”
After I got into the car, Dylan kept calling me over and over.
I ended up blocking his number and did my best to stay away from him.
Chapter 3
But to my surprise, the next day, he showed up at the Lesnars‘ residence. with Camilla and Rachel.
Since my mother passed away, only my grandmother and I have been living at home.
My grandmother has Alzheimer’s and forgets most things, but she still remembers that Dylan once saved my mother.
So when she heard him say I was breaking up with him and marrying someone else, she got furious and hit me with her cane.
Rachel chimed in from the side, making things worse.

She said, “Kaylee, Mr. Gabbard has loved you for five whole years. Now you say you won’t marry him, just like that? Don’t you think that’s unfair to him?”
Then Camilla added with a harsh tone, “She’s right. You should feel
lucky my son wants to marry you. You’re nearly thirty, do you really think anyone else would want a woman who’s been in a long relationship with another man?”
My anger was boiling, and my head started pounding.
Dylan knew that my grandmother wasn’t well, yet he still brought them here to twist the truth and upset her on purpose.
What he did was truly unforgivable.
When I shot him a cold look, he tried to act understanding.
He said, “I know you’re upset about Rachel. How about this? I promise after we get married, she’ll live somewhere else. I’ll only go see the child once a week. Isn’t that good enough for you?”
Before I could say anything to argue back, my grandmother, standing next

“Child? What child are you talking about?”
Rachel smiled cheerfully.

“Mrs. Lesnar, I had a child with Mr. Gabbard,” she said.
Camilla gently held my grandmother’s hand and smiled politely.
“Don’t worry, Mrs. Lesnar. No matter who gives birth, they’re all my grandchildren. Once Kaylee gives birth to a son, I’ll treat him the same.”
My grandmother’s expression completely changed. She stopped trying to keep the peace and raised her cane in anger.
She shouted, “Get out of here! All of you! Do you think my
granddaughter should take care of your child and be some kind of stepmom? Never!
“I don’t care if you saved my daughter years ago, you’ve shown your true colors. Now leave this house and don’t ever come back!”
