Chapter 2 Evidence of Infidelity

I forced myself to calm down and steady my emotions before heading to the bathroom to splash my face with cold water

The chill helped suppress my anger a little, and I took a deep breath. Now, it was time to find proof of his betrayall

I started by reaching out to someone from Cadell’s company to inquire about Lorna, eventually getting her contact info. I then

added her using a fake account

bin half

She seemed in a good mood, and within half an hour, she accepted my friend request

She asked who I was, and I just told her I worked at a store that customized bridesmaid dresses and needed her size

She didn’t suspect a thing and casually provided it

I didn’t reply, instead clicking through to her ********: profile

Lorna was the type to share a lot of her life online, and her feed was full of pictures documenting her travels and daily moments

Determined not to miss anything. I started scrolling from the very bottom

Most of it was irrelevant, until I stopped at a post from three years ago

It was a photo of her with someone, the location tagged as Solterra

The man’s face wasn’t visible, but the watch he was wearing was unmistakably familiarit was the one I gave Cadell for his birthday

So they’d been together that long

The realization sent a chill down my spine

Three years ago, Cadell and I went to Solterra for a trip

There were a lot of people there, and we got separated in the crowd. I tried calling him, but couldn’t get through. I spent the

whole day worrying until he finally found me

So, it wasn’t that I was hard to find. He just didn’t want to look for me

While I was alone, frantic and almost breaking down because I couldn’t find him, he was out there, taking sweet pictures and

kissing Lorna

When he finally found me, was he secretly mocking me for being so clueless

The thought of it made my fists clench, and I didn’t even realize the sharp pain in my hands until it hit me

I had poured everything I had into loving Cadell, while all along, he had been betraying me

His love for Lorna was intense, seemingly unstoppable

But what about me

What was I to them? A tool to prove their deep love

A wave of pure hatred flooded my chest, and all I could think about was revenge. I would make sure those two didn’t get away

with this

I forced myself to stay calm and kept scrolling through Lorna’s Instagram

Every time Cadell told me he was on a business trip, it turned out he was with Lorna

I hated that my memories were so clear, that I could now easily connect Cadell’s lies with their sweet moments together. It made me shake with rage

Taking a deep breath, I screenshot every picture of Cadell on Lorna’s account, saving them all

These would be the evidence I needed to ruin his reputation

I was thankful for that trip to Solterra three years ago. Because I had gotten lost and felt so anxious, I had insisted that Cadell install a locationsharing app on both of our phones

Now I could track his every move

I had trusted Cadell completely before and never once checked the app, especially since we’d been together for seven years and there hadn’t been any other women around him

I even used to brag to family and friends about how lucky I was to have found a man who was so serious and responsible about

our relationship

Now? It all seemed laughable

I opened the location tracking records. The app was impressive, even syncing all his past trips

Since five years ago, he had frequently been at hotels

That was when it must have started, his affair with Lorna

How disgusting

A man who couldn’t control himself was nothing but trash

I gathered all the evidence and put it together into a PowerPoint presentation

Weren’t they fond of thrills? Then I’d expose their affair for all to see

Since they wanted to play I’d let them play hard

Once I finished everything, I logged into my email and responded to the anonymous message

Aurora: Who are you? Can we talk

There was no reply for a while, and my patience wore thin. Instead, I pulled out my phone and, after a bit of work, managed to get the phone number of Cadell’s uncle, Cyril Hartman

Without hesitation, I dialed the number

Cyril was the illegitimate son of Cadelfs grandfather, Charles

Since

Cyril had returned two years ago, his relationship with Cadell had been nothing short of hostile

If it weren’t for Cyril’s capabilities, Charles would never have accepted him. But even so, Charles had no intention of passing on the company to Cyril. He wanted to groom Cyril as Cadell’s righthand man, so Cyril could assist him in taking over Hartman

Holdings

To keep Cyril on his side, Charles had reluctantly given him 10% of the shares. But even with that, Cyril’s share was still 4% less

than Cadell’s

If things kept going this way, Cadell would eventually inherit Hartman Holdings

But little did he know…

I also held shares in Hartman Holdings

fd never told him, and our first encounter wasn’t as much of a coincidence as he thought

I had saved Charleslife during a rough period for the Hartman family when his life was in danger and the company was struggling financially

I helped him survive and even gave him a large sum of money to get the company back on track

As a token of gratitude, Charles gave me 5% of the shares

At the time, I had planned to surprise Cadell with those shares as a wedding gift

But now, with his betrayal, that surprise was going to go to Cyril instead

5% might not seem like much, but it was enough to give Cyril an edge over Cadell. With Cyril’s skills, even if Charles didn’t like him, he could still end up taking over Hartman Holdings

I wanted to strip Cadell of his pride and his inheritance and leave him with nothing

That afternoon, I arranged to meet Cyril at a café downstairs from my apartment

At first, I thought getting him to meet with me would be difficult, but to my surprise, he agreed right away after receiving my

message

This was my first time meeting Cyril

He didn’t look anything like Cadell. In fact, he was much more attractive

He was tall, broad-shouldered, and had a sharp, striking face that made him look almost intimidating

He sat down and, with a smirk, looked at me. You’re more direct than I expected”

I froze for a moment, narrowing my eyes as I sized him up. What do you mean?”

He didn’t answer directly, just gave a halfsmile. Didn’t you already see the email?”

I hesitated. Was it he who had sent the anonymous email

Did he intentionally send it the day before my wedding

Was that just a coincidence

What

What was his real purpose

Did he already know about the shares I held

I guess I’d stayed silent too long because Cyril finally spoke up, So, what are you feeling right now?”

His eyes were filled with a mocking smile, like he was here just to mess with me

I leaned in and asked bluntly. Why did you send me that email?”
