Chapter31
Paulette couldn’t be bothered to act with her, and said indifferently, “I don’t know what you’re up to, but let me tell you again, I don’t have any feelings for Nelson anymore. If you like him so much, just hide your tail well and don’t let him see your true colors, otherwise… I don’t think any man would be happy to be played like a monkey.”
That slick tongue of yours, where’s the half of the past obedient?
Patricia sneered, “Paulette, who do you think you are? Just pretending to be something you’re not, huh?”
Paulette didn’t say anything, she just listened quietly to what she was saying.
“You always act so obedient and well–behaved in front of others, afraid that the Chapman family will kick you out, huh? You’ve got Elnora and Maxine wrapped around your finger, I bet you’re just trying to get a piece of the Chapman family’s wealth, aren’t you?”
Patricia kept talking and started to feel like there might be a chance.
Then Paulette couldn’t stay with the Chapman family anymore.
There was a hint of darkness in her eyes, and she said harshly, “As a child picked up halfway, you should have had the self–awareness to leave the Chapman family when you turned eighteen, instead of shamelessly clinging on like you do!”
Paulette didn’t react much after hearing, just looked at her quietly, “That’s between me and the Chapman family, seems like it has nothing to do with Ms. Carver.”

“But you wouldn’t leave Nelson alone, you said, ‘What does it have to do with me?“”
Patricia was getting more and more excited, her pupils seemed like they were about to pop out at any moment.
Paulette never knew that a woman could go crazy like that over a man.
She used to hate Patricia more because of the jade pendant incident, but now she’s feeling a little sorry for her.
Every day she was alive, she was constantly scheming and had no sense of self.
Paulette, with her breath slightly calmed down, said lightly, “Patricia, the only grudge I have against you is that you deliberately broke my jade pendant. But we have no future interactions, I don’t want to waste too much time and emotion on this matter with you.”
Not worth it.
If she had the time, she’d better think of more solutions.
“You saw it too, Nelson doesn’t like me. You don’t have to keep holding on to me. Just spend these few days peacefully, I will leave the Chapman family.”
Patricia didn’t believe her nonsense!
“Unless you leave right now!”
Paulette gave her a dumb look, feeling like she had just wasted her breath.
She was about to leave when Patricia grabbed her hair from behind and said, “Where do you think you’re going? Didn’t I tell you? Leave now and

The feeling of scalp tingling lasted for a long time, Paulette thought, This woman is simply crazy!
“Patricia, let go first!”
“You promised me!”
She thought she was a three–year–old child?
Paulette didn’t have much to say, she just fought back as soon as she used her arm. She’s pretty strong, but Patricia quickly found herself at a disadvantage.
Suddenly, Paulette felt a force pushing her.
In a flash, Patricia slipped and rolled down the slope next to her.
She suddenly felt a pang in her heart, “Patricia!”
Before she could react, a faster figure dashed out from behind and headed straight for Patricia.
Paulette stopped in her tracks, her breathing all out of whack. She belatedly tugged at the corner of her mouth, trying to smile but failing.
This is the third time.
Patricia…Nelson.
Sweat was dripping down his forehead, Paulette watched as the man carried Patricia up, her whole face buried in his chest, couldn’t tell if she was unconscious or awake.

Nelson’s face was cold as ice, “What are you standing there for? Call an ambulance!”

…
Paulette pursed her lips, wanting to say it’s her own fault, but Nelson wouldn’t believe it…he never believed her.
She hung up the phone and put it away.
He lifted his head and said, “I didn’t push her, she fell down by herself.”
“Last time, the time before that, you said the same thing.” Nelson’s mouth curled into a cold arc, indifferent, disappointed, and with more complex emotions. Paulette couldn’t quite understand, only hearing his deep voice: “This time, if Tricia wants to hold you accountable, I won’t cover for you anymore.”
The ambulance arrived, Nelson felt sorry for Patricia, took off his clothes and put them on her.
Paulette was just standing on the roadside, watching as the two rows of car lights go further and further away.
