Chapter 55
The thug smirked coldly and said, “There’s an ATM not far from here. Come on, I’ll go with you to get some cash.”
Paulette’s eyes lit up, There must be people where there’s an ATM.
She pretended to be scared and shrank her neck, “So… if I give you the money, you’ll let me go?”
“What else do you want to do then?”
The little rascal smirked and said, “You’re too small to be fun, but if you really want to give it a try, I can play with you.”
Paulette didn’t say anything, she looked like she was about to cry.
Three people wrapped her in the middle and walked towards the building not far away.
Took out the money and gave it to them, five thousand exactly.
The thug’s eyes lit up at the sight of so much money. A bright idea flashed through his mind as he looked at Paulette and said, “Your family is so rich… If your parents hear about what happened, they probably wouldn’t mind giving us a little more, right?”
When Paulette heard this, she thought to herself, This doesn’t sound good.
I turned around to run, but I was grabbed by the hair from behind by a thug.
“Hey sis… I like you so much, where are you going?”

Paulette felt a wave of despair creeping up in her heart. Just then, she heard a cold voice behind her saying, “Paulette, why aren’t you going home after school? What are you doing here?”
This was like music to Paulette’s ears.
She forced herself to stay calm and turned around, shouting, “Jeremiah.”
“My brother came to pick me up, let’s go.”
This was said to three punks. Even though Jeremiah showing up made her feel safe instantly, she still didn’t want him to get into a conflict with
these guys.
The thug glanced at her, then at the tall and straight Jeremiah next to her, and in the end they just exchanged a look and left.
“Wait a minute.”
Jeremiah took a step forward and handed the milk to Paulette, then walked over to the three punks, his voice sharp and cold: “Money, stay.”
The hooligans looked at each other and laughed.
“Kid, do you know what you’re talking about?”
Although this kid is tall, he’s just a high school student. There are three of them, who would be afraid of him?
Jeremiah smirked and twisted his wrist, his eyes cold, “I’m not a patient person. I’ll say it one last time, money, leave it.”
Those three punks weren’t tall at all, 18–year–old Jeremiah stood in front

Maybe this contrast just made that punk more excited. He spat to the side and said fiercely, “You little brat, think you’re tough just because you have long hair? This money is mine when it’s in my hands, got it?”
He flipped Jeremiah off and gave a wink to his companion, ready to leave.
In a split second, Jeremiah took two steps forward, grabbed his hand, and pulled him back, then they parted ways.
“Ouch! It hurts, hurts, hurts!”
“You let go of me!”
Jeremiah’s expression was calm, with a hint of a smirk at the corner of his mouth, “Money, stay.”
The other two guys wanted to help, but Jeremiah easily subdued them. In the end, he left some money and said, “You just wait for me,” then ran
away.
Paulette was shocked to see that Jeremiah had such strong fighting ability.
She stared at the boy as he walked up to her and handed her the money.
Paulette caught it.
“Paulette.”
“Hmm?” she instinctively responded.
Jeremiah’s mouth twitched with a hint of a smile, so fast it was almost like an illusion. The next thing he said was particularly heartless: “Are you stupid? You just give money when asked? It’s raining and you’re not going to leave that junk car at school and take a taxi home?”

Paulette opened her mouth, feeling really upset.
But couldn’t come up with any words to refute it.
“Alright.” Jeremiah frowned, glanced at the sky, took off his clothes and threw them into Paulette’s arms, “Let’s go back quickly, otherwise we’ll both end up soaking wet when this rain comes down.”
Paulette thought, I will always remember that day when Jeremiah was not very good at riding a bike, and I sat on the back holding onto his clothes tightly around his waist, riding back in the wind and rain.
Getting soaked to the skin was inevitable.
But that person was Jeremiah.
Paulette had his clothes on his head, just getting the edge of his shoes a little wet.
