Chapter 5
After I died, a bolt of lightning struck Charlie. Strangely, however, Charlie was not affected at all.
I was the only one who knew that this was the curse’s doing.
The Sullivan family will soon be finished.
The deafening thunder attracted the attention of everyone in the Sullivan family. Julia hurried over and saw Charlie kneeling beside my dead body.
Julia only took a glance before she looked away in disgust. “Good riddance. Well, I guess it’s just the right time for Maria to take her place. This woman killed the eldest grandson of our family. This is what she deserves. Go and see Maria. She’s still heartbroken because she lost her child.”
Julia said as she tried to drag Charlie towards the villa, but Charlie did not move at all. He was just staring at my body in a daze.
“How could she die?”
“What?”
Charlie watched me die with his own eyes, and for a moment, confusion crossed his face.
But soon, he concluded that this was just a means for me to win favor for myself.

Charlie was muttering to himself over my body when Maria came over. He grabbed Maria and said coldly, “Adriana, I’m warning you, running away from home will not work on me. You come back and kneel to Maria at once. You apologize to her, and I will think about forgiving you!

My soul was floating in the air, looking down and finding the scene in front of me funny.
He actually tried to threaten a corpse.
A flash of silver light attracted Charlie’s attention. When he saw the silver ring on the corpse’s right hand, he was suddenly stunned.

On the third day after my death, Julia sneakily stuffed a cup of drugged milk into Maria’s hand. “Maria, you and Charlie have been childhood sweethearts. I have watched you two grow up since you were young. I love you like my own daughter. It can’t be helped that the child is gone. You two are still young. What matters most now is for you to bear an heir to the Sullivan family!”
Maria nodded shyly and took the cup of milk into Charlie’s room. Less than ten minutes later, her screams were heard in the room.
Charlie’s face flushed from the drug, but his eyes remained calm. He stared sinisterly at Maria, who was lying on the ground, without any of the warmth and love he had for her in the past.
“You tricked me once, and you think you can trick me again?
“If you hadn’t drugged me before, Adriana and I would never have separated!”
