When Charlie rushed to the hospital, Julia was carried out of the emergency room. She was lucky enough to survive, but she would have to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair.
Seeing her son appear, Julia burst into tears instantly. She choked and grabbed the corner of Charlie’s clothes, but she didn’t know what to say.
She was upset by the series of unfortunate events that happened recently. She had originally planned to go shopping with her friends to relax. She was somehow blinded by a brain fog of some sort and crashed her car into the divider in the middle of the road, in a fit of anger.
The strange thing was that everyone was unharmed in the car accident, except her, whose legs were broken and had to be amputated.
Julia didn’t notice that the blood–jade bracelet she had snatched and worn on her wrist was faintly glowing, shimmering like blood. Half a month after my death, Charlie heard from somewhere that there was some otherworldly being haunting Mount Thom in the neighboring city. He believed it and stayed there day and night, hoping to see me again one day.
Once again, it was all for nothing. Charlie walked down the mountain path in a daze. Suddenly, a figure jumped out from the bushes next to him. That figure raised a knife, pointed it at Charlie, and rushed over.
Charlie reacted quickly, kicked the person in the chest, and sent both

them and the knife flying two meters away. A scream was heard, and Charlie could see clearly that the person was Maria.
“Charlie! I’m going to kill you!”
Maria looked crazed. The days of tormenting each other with Oscar had exhausted all of her energy. During another dispute, she accidentally stabbed Oscar.
But after a brief panic, Maria looked at Oscar lying in a pool of blood and suddenly had an idea.
Rather than spending the rest of her life like that, she decided that she would rather drag her enemy with her to death.
She had always been a person who would do anything to achieve her goals, and she had always been vindictive. She never changed. She hid Oscar’s body in the refrigerator and found out Charlie’s whereabouts from various sources. When she learned that Charlie had been seen on this mountain many times, she went there with a knife.
“You’re the one who destroyed me! Even if I die, I’ll drag you along with me!”
She was still yelling at Charlie when she was taken away by the police, but the latter sneered and didn’t take it seriously.
He was very skilled in martial arts. Maria, a spoiled young lady, was no match for him. He found it ridiculous that she wanted to drag him along to death.
But Charlie wasn’t laughing for long.
He fell to the ground uncontrollably, looking at his numb legs in horror.

The assistant quickly dialed the emergency number. All the tests done at the hospital were of no help, and the doctors said they were at wits‘ end.
“The results showed that there was nothing wrong, but how could a healthy person suddenly be unable to walk?”
Three days later, in the Sullivan family villa, Julia knocked on his door, crying. “Charlie! Charlie! Come out! Don’t do anything stupid!”
