In the days that followed, Clarisse grew frighteningly quiet.
Grace sent photos every day of Leopold taking care of her, but Clarisse remained indifferent.
It wasn’t until the day Clarisse was discharged that Grace showed up in person.
“Clarisse, you’re discharged from the hospital after just three days,” Grace said, shaking her bandaged right hand. “Do you know how long I had to stay because of your stab? If it weren’t for Leopold spending a fortune to find a witch from the wasteland who could heal with magic, my hand would’ve been ruined.”
“You got what you deserved,” Clarisse replied coldly.
Grace suddenly laughed. “Clarisse, what are you so proud about? You clearly liked Leopold so much, yet he was the one who sent you straight to the Pack Prison. How does it feel? Bet it hurt like hell.”
Clarisse finally turned to face her. “What exactly are you trying to say?”
“Nothing much. Just a little story,” Grace said, sitting on the edge of the bed. “You probably don’t know this, but Leopold and I went to high school together. Back then, every girl was chasing him, but he never even glanced at anyone.”
She stroked her bandage, her eyes gleaming with pride. “Except me.”
“He remembered that I drank coffee without sugar, always carried an extra umbrella on rainy days, only took water from me at student council events, and during school speeches, he only looked toward where I sat. All the other girls were jealous to death, but he only
smiled at me.”
“Just as we were about to take the next step, I got into a car accident trying to save him and had to recuperate at Moonrest Hollow. But we stayed in touch all these years.‘

Clarisse’s fingers clenched into her palm.
“Later, I told Leopold my mom had bonded with an Alpha and moved into the Eboncrest Pack, but there was a Miss Clarisse there bullying her.” Grace chuckled lightly. “He immediately called your father.”
“You want to know what he said? He said ‘hand Clarisse over to me for discipline.”
Clarisse trembled all over. She had always thought her father had sent her to Leopold willingly…
“He excelled in everything, including discipline,” Grace whispered close to her ear. “He made you fall for him so easily, then took you
to bed.”
“Though I was furious, I later found out that every time he had sex with you, he recorded it on surveillance and copied it…” Grace smiled softly. “That’s when I understood his plan.”
“After all, Clarisse Vexley was the proudest of all. If I had those private videos, who else would you dare to bully?”
“Leopold slept with you probably to hand me those recordings later, so I’d have some leverage to fight against you.”
Grace finished, looked satisfied at Clarisse’s pale face, then left the hospital room with a smile.
Clarisse felt as if struck by lightning; her blood seemed to freeze.
She ran out of the hospital in a frenzy and took a taxi straight home.
Back at wolf castle, she frantically rummaged through every drawer.
There was nothing in the study desk.
And there was also nothing in the safe in the bedroom.
Finally, in the darkroom’s computer, she found the encrypted folder.

The moment she opened it, her legs gave out and she collapsed to the floor.
On the screen were intimate videos of her and Leopold.
From the first time to the last, all clearly categorized.
Shaking, Clarisse dialed Alpha Vexley’s number.
“Didn’t you say no contact?” Alpha Vexley’s voice was cold. “The severance of parent–daughter relationship agreement has already been sent to you. The month’s almost over. You must go to Noctelle Pack within the next day or two.”
“I have only one question,” Clarisse’s voice was hoarse. “At the start, did you hand me over to Leopold for discipline, or did he taken the initiative to ask for me?”
“Why do you ask that?”
“Just tell me!”
After a moment of silence, Alpha Vexiey said, “He traded the Southern Territory projects for you. Frankly, I was tired of you anyway, so it killed two birds with one stone.”
The phone slammed onto the ground with a crack, the screen shattered.
Clarisse suddenly burst into laughter.
Her laughter echoed through the empty wolf castle. It was a tearful, heart–wrenching laugh..
“Leopold… you really are something.”
After a long while, Clarisse wiped away all her tears and walked to the room, dragging out a suitcase she had packed long ago.
Step by step, she walked toward the door. Each step felt like treading on a blade, yet she moved forward with unwavering.
