Chapter 15
Grace wore a white dress, standing there fragile and delicate.
It wasn’t Clarisse.
Before he could even react, Grace had already rushed into his arms.
Leopold stiffened imperceptibly as he caught the white figure clinging to him.
He quietly pushed her away, his voice just distant enough, “What are you doing here?”
Grace tilted her face up, her eyes shining with hope. “I asked Beta about your flight. I came specially to pick you up.”
She bit her lip, wearing a look of hurt. “Leopold, don’t you want to see me?”
“No, I want to see you.” Leopold adjusted his cufflink, avoiding her outstretched hand. “It’s just windy here, and you’re not well. You
can’t catch a cold.”
“I’ve long since recovered, thanks to the medical team you found at Moonrest Hollow.” Grace spun around, her white skirt blossoming like petals.
Suddenly, she grabbed his sleeve. “Leopold, if you’re free, can you come with me somewhere? I have something to say.”
Leopold glanced at his watch.
Clarisse hadn’t come to meet him, probably still angry.
That pearl necklace wasn’t enough; he’d have to prepare more gifts…
Her favorite dessert shop’s Napoleon cake, the newest limited–edition bag, and…
“Leopold?” Grace’s voice pulled him back.
“Yeah.” He gave the Beta a subtle look, whispered a few instructions, then got into the car with Grace.
The scenery outside the window rushed past as Leopold absently rubbed his phone screen.
Clarisse’s last message was still that transfer–without a single punctuation mark.
The car stopped in front of a luxury hotel.
Leopold frowned. “Why did you bring me here?”
Grace smiled without answering and pulled him inside.
The banquet hall doors opened, and Leopold’s steps faltered.
The crystal chandeliers‘ dazzling light revealed a romantic confession scene-
A champagne tower, rose petals, heart–shaped balloons. Guests in elegant attire glanced at him, sending ambiguous looks as he entered.
The big screen suddenly lit up.
The first photo: In the library, he looked down, explaining something to Grace as sunlight cast a gentle silhouette on his profile.
The second: On a rainy day, he tilted his umbrella toward Grace, letting the rain soak his own shoulder.
The third: At graduation, he stood beside Grace with a rare smile curling his lips, and so on.
Each photo was candid but strangely intimate.
Blushing, Grace stepped onto the stage, her voice trembling with nerves. “Leopold, do you remember our first meeting?” “I was feeding stray cats on campus, and you stood under the cherry blossom tree watching me for a long time…”

Leopold listened expressionlessly.
Of course, he remembered–it was the day he was simply thinking about how to get rid of annoying admirers.
“After that, you only took water from me, looked only in my direction during speeches…” Grace’s cheeks flushed. “Everyone said we were the perfect pair, but actually… I’ve always liked you.”
Gasps filled the banquet hall.
Whispers floated, “Grace is really bold, confessing her feelings to Alpha Leopold…”
“Is that called bold? Please, she wouldn’t have dared if it wasn’t mutual.”
“Exactly. I heard Alpha Leopold has done everything for Grace these years. If they get together, she’ll be the future Luna. We should start cozying up to her…”
Grace took a deep breath and continued, “On graduation day, I planned to confess, but then the car accident happened. You’ve cared for me all these years, and I know deep down you have feelings for me too…”
Leopold’s gaze grew colder and colder.
He hadn’t expected that not only Beta and others had misunderstood, but even Grace herself had fallen for this illusion.
“So today…” Grace took out a delicate box from her pocket. “I want to ask you…”
Before she could finish, Leopold strode onto the stage.
The room fell silent instantly. All eyes focused on the commanding man.
He walked up to the stage, step by step, until he was standing in front of Grace, his voice chillingly calm. “Sorry, Grace.”
“I can agree to anything else,” he said, looking directly into her eyes, “but not this.”
“I don’t like you.”
