The city worker’s harsh words pierced Qiana’s heart.
Fine, I’m leaving!”
she snapped, calling for a moving van.
With nowhere to go, the driver impatiently kept asking her destination.
Finally, she mumbled an address:“Lanxiang Apartments.”
She had to contact her old landlord about renewing the lease.
Luckily, the apartment hadn’t been rented out yet.
Back at Lanxiang, she was met by her entire family waiting at the entrance.
They were poorly dressed but clean.
Qiana was disgusted and wanted to leave, but the driver started unloading her luggage.

Before she could get out, her parents surrounded the car.
Her grandparents and siblings swarmed, grabbing her belongings.
Cheap items were tossed aside; valuable bags and clothes were stuffed into bags.
“Stop it! Those are mine! Don’t touch them!”
Her pleas were ignored; her luggage was ripped open, its contents scattered on the ground.
A crowd gathered, whispering and pointing.
Her family didn’t show any shame, loudly proclaiming:
“Our daughter stole our savings! What’s wrong with us taking some things back?”
Unsatisfied, they demanded she clean the apartment, cook for them, and wash everyone’s clothes.
If she refused, they threatened to reveal her misdeeds throughout the neighborhood. Qiana, desperate to avoid humiliation, complied.
Their anger didn’t subside.
They demanded she get a job and pay them back.
She spent her days job hunting and her nights doing chores and enduring their verbal abuse.
She deteriorated rapidly, looking years older, her face pale and gaunt, her body weak. This drove her to the brink.
Desperation led her to seek Ethan and Mason’s forgiveness.
She knelt outside the Riverview Mansion, pleading,
“Mr. Ethan! Mr. Mason! I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t have hurt Lanie! I know I was wrong…”
She repeated her pleas, begging for forgiveness.
But the mansion was empty.
Ethan and Mason had moved back to their old house.
The Riverview Mansion was vacant.
But the security guard informed them of Qiana’s situation.
“Ignore her. Let her kneel. She’ll learn her lesson.”
Ethan’s voice was cold and emotionless.
The guard hung up, patrolling the area to prevent Qiana from entering.
After all, her clothes suggested she wasn’t wealthy.
