Chapter 13
“What? No Luna? But… that she–wolf just said she was your Luna…”
Aaron didn’t even wait for an explanation. He stormed straight into the packhouse.
“Sierra! Where the hell are you?!”
In the upstairs bathroom, Sierra flinched at the sound of his voice.

Panic surged through her. She clutched the box tighter, her fingers trembling as she hovered near the toilet, tempted to toss it in and flush it away.
But it was too late.
The bathroom door burst open with a violent kick, and Aaron was already inside.
He lunged for the box in her hands, yanking it away before she could stop him.
Frantically, he tore through it.
Inside were photographs.
Dozens of them. Maybe hundreds.
All of him.
Aaron at different ages, in different clothes. School uniforms. Basketball jerseys.
Suits. Sweatpants.
Some were candid. Some clearly posed. Some he had no memory of being taken.
Each one, a glimpse of his life through someone else’s eyes.
Through her eyes.
From awkward teen to grown man, from the clumsy, crooked smile to the guarded look
he wore now–Rachel had captured it all. Some shots were early and amateur, slightly
off–center or poorly lit. But even those glowed with something unmistakable.

Love.
It was in every frame. Every click of the shutter.
She hadn’t just taken pictures. She had documented her love for him–piece by piece, year after year.
And then… there was the last photo.
Aaron’s hands stopped flipping. His breath caught.
It was a wedding photo.
His wedding photo.
Rachel had taken it.
He was in a crisp white tux, smiling stiffly.
Another woman’s hand was curled around his arm.
His chest tightened so hard it physically hurt. His wolf let out a low, guttural growl.
Clutching his heart, Aaron staggered back. The photo slipped from his fingers, fluttering to the ground like a leaf in the wind.
But on the back of that photo–there was writing.
His eyes snapped to it.
Rachel’s handwriting.
[Aaron, I guess from now on, I’ll just see you as my big brother for real. I hope you the happy life with Sierra.]
The words gutted him.
He fell to his knees, flipping through more of the photos, desperate to read the backs.
[You look so cool when you play basketball.]

She left him behind and never looked back again.
[I’m eighteen now. I’m old enough to choose my mate. I want to choose you. Do you even realize that?]
[I snapped another secret photo of you. You’re scary when you’re mad–but you’ve never been mad at me. Does that make me special?]
[Aaron, we’re meant to be together, right? Please… give me a real answer. I don’t know how much longer I can wait.]
[I swear I didn’t write that confession letter. But when you got so angry for me… it made me wonder. Maybe you do care. Maybe you really do care about me…]
[Do you love me, Aaron? Or am I just the little sister you never had?]
Each note was more raw than the last. Some were full of hope. Others dripped with heartbreak.
But then–one was torn in half. Only the first word remained: Aaron…
The rest was gone.
Aaron’s entire body went rigid. His hands flew to Sierra’s arm, gripping her wrist in a deathlock.
“Where’s the other half?” he demanded.
Sierra’s voice trembled. “A–Aaron, please, you’re scaring me—”
“WHERE IS IT?!” His roar shook the room. “WHAT DID YOU DO?!”
Sierra yanked her arm back and snapped. “I ripped it up and flushed it! Happy now?!”
He shoved her away. Hard.
She fell to the ground, landing with a painful thud.
“Aaron…” she whimpered, voice shaking. “Rachel was obsessed with you! It wasn’t right. She sent those photos on purpose, knowing what they’d imply. What if they fell into the wrong hands? Your enemies could’ve used them to drag your name through the

mud. I was just trying to protect you!”
“GET OUT!” he roared, pointing toward the door.
“I won’t,” Sierra said, crawling closer. “I’m your Luna now, remember? Rachel’s gone.
It’s my turn to stand by you-”
“DON’T TOUCH ME!”
His voice cracked like thunder.
Sierra froze, mid–crawl, tears now mixing with humiliation.
Aaron didn’t look at her again.
He bent down, gathered every photo with trembling hands, and held them like they were made of glass.
The broken pieces of a love he never saw coming.
But that had always been there.
Right in front of him.
And now… it might be too late.
