Chapter 10
Elsewhere, Xander had already picked them up.
He cleared his entire schedule today specifically to accompany Eleanor’s family shopping. Inside the black Maybach, Dereon and Maddison’s eyes sparkled with awe.
“Xander, this car must be crazy expensive, right?”
“Just look at it – definitely not cheap. Xander’s a big boss, can’t be driving some rundown junk.”
It was their first time riding in a luxury vehicle.
The leather seats felt soft and breathable, nothing like those rock–hard taxis that trapped sweat against your back.
But Eleanor cringed at their remarks.
She whipped her head around, shooting them a sharp glare: “Dad, Mom, stop asking like that. It’s rude.”
Dereon and Maddison instantly drooped their heads.
They knew their daughter had snagged a wealthy man embarrass themselves now.
couldn’t afford to
“It’s nothing.”
Xander turned the steering wheel, laughing: “Dereon and Maddison are just curious. I get it.”
Chapter 10
He acted like a gentleman–thoughtful and understanding.
Eleanor held his hand, her eyes brimming with admiration and possessiveness; she’d never let a man like this slip away.
But what came next spiraled out of control.
Xander first took them to a Michelin–starred restaurant for a five–figure lunch, then to luxury stores for clothes, bags, and jewelry.
Dereon and Maddison saw the price tags, shifting from gasps to silence, then stunned disbelief.
A single dish cost thousands; clothes cost tens of thousands, bags and jewelry ran hundreds of thousands–any one item could fuel their bragging for years.
The two were like country bumpkins visiting a garden.
They wandered east and west, grabbing free desserts here and snagging giveaways there; such places detest pettiness most.
Anyone could tell they were country folk at first glance.
Xander watched with a slight frown.
He couldn’t help comparing: Caitlin’s parents never acted this way clearly more refined.
–
Eleanor noticed his disgust and reined in her parents, finally suggesting dinner at home to avoid further humiliation.
Back at the villa, Dereon and Maddison grew even more awestruck.
They’d never imagined their daughter lived so lavishly; who knew how long this foolish girl would’ve hidden it otherwise.

The three started arguing in the kitchen.
“Mom, Dad, you’re going back tomorrow.”
Eleanor leaned against the doorframe, nibbling imported white strawberries while delivering the eviction notice.
Their faces instantly soured.
“You ungrateful brat! Now that you’ve married up, you won’t care about your own parents!”
“Exactly, you ungrateful wretch.”
“You don’t understand! Until marriage is settled, we must tread carefully. If I screw this up, we’ll all end up living in destitution.”
“Enough. You leave tomorrow.”
Eleanor stood firm, finally thrusting a few thousand dollars at them for travel expenses. Reluctantly, the elderly couple agreed.
Outside, Xander was on a call.
His friend had spotted them at the mall earlier but couldn’t ask directly. Now he was secretly calling.
are you
“Bro, serious?”
“No
way. I’m just having fun. Keep the girl happy, and she’ll make me happy in bed. That’s called pay first, enjoy later.”
After all, there were still plenty of positions they hadn’t tried.
Thinking of Eleanor’s figure, Xander felt a tightness in his lower abdomen and his mouth went dry.
Chapter 10
The next day. Dereon and Maddison left early.
Xander returned to the office and spotted a package on his desk as soon as he walked in.
It looked like it contained some kind of document.
