A few days later, my father called me again, asking to meet at a coffee shop.
Sure enough, the first words out of his mouth were about money.
“Can’t you help your sister?”
I rested my head on my hand, looking at him innocently.
“Why don’t you have her beg me on her knees?”
My father’s expression immediately stiffened.
“As her older sister, you should help her. She’s getting married now and just needs a house.”
They’ve already met the parents?
I suppressed my excitement and spoke calmly.
“Oh, shouldn’t the man’s side provide the house?”
Hearing this, my father snorted coldly.
“That woman, thinking her Jack is so great. She says if we don’t provide the money, she won’t let them get married.”
This was entirely within expectations.
Because years ago, Jack’s mom had made the same demands of me.
Although I could afford to buy a house, I wasn’t willing to see his mother’s smug face.
“Then don’t get married.”
My father was clearly getting anxious and lowered his voice.
“But Tina is pregnant how. If this gets out, it’ll be so embarrassing.”
I was a bit surprised. It seems Tina truly loves Jack.
“I’ll say it again, have her beg me, and I might consider it. After all, didn’t mom leave quite a bit of money? Hasn’t it all been used to support them?”
I maintained a spectator’s attitude towards Tina’s affairs.
After all, my daily life now consists of going to work and taking care of my “sickly husband“.
Everyone in the mansion knows we’re a loving couple, a model husband and wife.
Henry’s wealthy father was very satisfied with this.
With a wave of his hand, he transferred the ownership of the mansion to my name.
Plus a hefty financial reward.
Along with the inh
Along with the inheritance my mother left,
The interest alone from the bank deposits is enough for me to live comfortably.
Henry always teases me for being obsessed with money.
One day, I went shopping with my girlfriends, carrying my credit card.
Just as we were happily shopping, one of my friends suddenly exclaimed.
“Look, look! It’s your sister!”
I turned my head and sure enough, it was Tina, along with my stepmother.
Nearby, arguing with them, were none other than Jack and his mother.
How could I miss such an important drama as a spectator?
I immediately found a window seat and sat down.
Tina was still carrying several shopping bags, while Jack’s mother was cursing loudly.
“You really don’t know how to save money, do you? You’re spending all my son’s money, you ungrateful wretch!”
“What are you talking about? This is my money, I can use it however I want!”
Jack’s mother looked at her belly and sneered.
“Aren’t you going to marry my son? Isn’t the money you’re spending now all from our family? Or are you not planning to get married anymore?”
Tina’s expression suddenly stiffened, and she grabbed my stepmother’s hand.
“I want to get married, Mom. I want to marry Jack.”
“We asked you to save money for a house, and here you are shopping. If you don’t want to get married, forget it. It’s not my son who’s pregnant anyway!”
Jack’s mother spat and was about to leave with Jack.
My stepmother, unable to stand it anymore, rushed up to argue. The two women immediately started fighting.
But my stepmother, having lived a life of luxury for years, quickly found herself at a disadvantage.
“If I had known it would be like this, I would have chosen Fiona. At least she knows proper etiquette, unlike you two – a mistress and her daughter, no wonder you have no manners!”
Tina burst into tears.
My friends and I watched in amazement.
Just as it seemed the show was over and we were about to leave,
We were caught by Jack’s mother, who had come back.
“Fiona, you’re actually here.”

“Fiona, you’re actually here.”
Jack’s mother rushed over and grabbed my hand.
“I’ve thought it through. Jack should marry you instead. When can you buy the house?”
