Chapter 8
After Benjamin returned to the company,
he immediately summoned his assistant: “Order a blacklist against Elizabeth!”
“Any company that hires her–I’ll crush them!”
She’d tricked him again. This time, he’d make her pay.
On the third day after Elizabeth’s ban, her cancer journey alt account suddenly hit trending topics.

Benjamin saw it too, frowning as he clicked into that account.

poor as mine–how could I burden his whole life?】
Benjamin felt an uncanny familiarity growing with every word; the ‘First Love‘ character she described seemed unmistakably like himself.
Just then, his assistant pushed open the office door.
“Mr. Hayes, we found Elizabeth’s ID linked to another alt account called ‘Orange‘–the cancer journey alt account that’s all over trending topics!”
Benjamin’s breath hitched, his heart slamming like it’d been struck by a sledgehammer.
Elizabeth had cancer?
As he reeled, the assistant presented an earnings report.
“Her alt account runs an Amazon storefront with over 300k in total revenue since joining. It violated company policy. Should we reclaim the earnings, Mr. Hayes?”
Benjamin barked a laugh, feeling ridiculous for that momentary panic.
The heaviness in his chest vanished instantly!
Yes, Elizabeth was the best at playing with people’s hearts. She once wrote him a romance diary about raising a cute puppy together, living in Paris after graduation, and marrying during the most romantic winter…
But in the end? Wasn’t it all lies?
Now she’s even posing online as some devoted cancer patient to gain

sympathy, just to earn money for her unborn child, isn’t she?
The more he thought about it, the more agitated he became.
“She used company resources for personal gain. Sue her immediately and recover the profits!”
Yet even this couldn’t quell his fury.
“Call her! Tell her to get back here and explain herself!”
It was the first time the assistant had seen Benjamin this enraged. Usually an unfathomable pool of ice, his rare outbursts always traced back to one person–Elizabeth.
Benjamin intended to wait for Elizabeth. He wanted to personally witness her deleting all those made–up stories.
Then he’d still serve her the lawsuit papers, making sure she understood actions have consequences.
Just like when she abruptly dumped him years ago.
She’d wronged him too many times, and he was determined to settle each score, to vent his anger thoroughly.
But Elizabeth never showed. Instead, Victoria called saying she’d arrived downstairs, asking him to come get her.
He stood up, instructing his assistant that Elizabeth should wait in his office until he returned.
Benjamin opened his office door and walked to the elevator bank.
The floor numbers glowed with a faint blue light, climbing upward.

Benjamin stared intently.
An inexplicable premonition stirred within him.
It might be Elizabeth arriving.
The elevator doors slid open with a “ding” before him.
A cold, mocking smile touched his lips as he watched the doors part, revealing the woman’s face coming into focus.
Benjamin’s expression darkened, then drained of color entirely.
There stood Olivia, puffy–eyed from crying, clutching Elizabeth’s black- and–white memorial photo as she stepped out. She halted directly
before the stunned Benjamin.
Her voice came out hoarse: “Benjamin, as your legal team demanded, I’ve brought–Elizabeth to see you.”
