Chapter 22 The Willards Come
The sight of Natalie filled Jeremiah with dread. He thought,
“Why is Natalie here? She’s Grandma’s confidant.”
“Natalie..”
Natalie cut Jeremiah off aloofly, “Mr. Willard, I called the police
as Ms. Willard was kidnapped in my presence. I should be
responsible for her safety.””
Jeremiah felt he was in real trouble at that moment. When
Devona found out, she’d side with Seryna.
Zachary said, “Ms. Willard, we’ll do our job right and give you a
satisfactory answer.”
Seryna found his attitude odd. She felt he wasn’t helping her
because she was a Willard. He did it only because she was
herself.
Jeremiah’s head snapped to Seryna, and he warned, “Seryna,
you just returned to our family. Don’t push it.”
A plain threat.
Seryna looked at him coldly. This was only the beginning.

“Mr. Willard, I was kidnapped tonight. And you’re the man
behind it. We’re adults and know the laws. People should pay
for their actions.”
Seryna turned to Natalie. “Natalie, let’s go home.”

Natalie squinted her eyes and asked, “Ms. Willard, by home, where do you mean?”
Seryna planned to stay in the Willards‘ house. But after today’s
event, she changed her mind. She needed to grow. These people
would only bring her down.
Seryna wanted to grow into a person who could take charge of
the Willard family. And she’d take care of these people sooner
or later.
She couldn’t win against Jeremiah at that moment. But once
she’d matured, he’d be nothing.
Seryna smiled bitterly, “Natalie, I don’t have a home anymore.
My brother kidnapped me and wanted to ruin my life. I have no
place to go. May as well go back to Grandma.”
Jeremiah panicked. He’d be doomed once Devona heard about
this.
“Seryna, I repeat. This is just an accident. Why can’t you listen?”

Seryna didn’t want to talk to Jeremiah and directly started
heading outside with Natalie.
Jeremiah grew more nervous. If Devona knew he kidnapped
Seryna, she’d despise him. Devona had power in the house, so he
must keep it from her.
Jeremiah glared at the back of Seryna and said in a dark tone,
“Seryna, be careful of your words when you see Grandma.”
Natalie turned and looked at him. “Mr. Willard, I’ll report
everything that happens today honestly to Devona. You can
come after me. Leave Ms. Willard alone.”
Jeremiah said nothing, though he was fuming inside.
He was mad at Seryna because she refused to back off. Why did
she have to go to the police while she was perfectly fine?
STAT
Zachary watched Seryna leave and went to a quiet corner to
make a call.
With a playful smile, Zachary said, “Keenan, tell Mr. Hatfield
that I’ll handle Ms. Willard’s kidnappers.”
Keenan replied, “Thank you, Zachary,”
Zachary asked curiously, “Why does Mr. Hatfield help Ms.

Willard?”
Keenan chuckled, “Zachary, there’s a saying you should know.”
Zachary asked, “What is it?”
Keenan said, “Curiosity kills the cat!”
Zachary hung up immediately.
Jeremiah was arrested for abetting a crime.
The Willard went to the station once they received the notice.
However, Seryna was long gone.
Furious, Jennett nearly passed out. Her resentment for Seryna
grew.
But Tehila was secretly happy about it. Since Seryna sent
Jeremiah to prison, they’d never make up. And she’d remain
Jeremiah’s favorite.
Jeremiah was a vindictive man. Seryna was doomed.
Rashad was the only one who kept a clear head. On the way to
the station, he called Natalie, so he knew what had happened.
He walked up to Jeremiah, his gaze stern. “Jeremiah, you hired
