And there it was, Rashad had already had three drinks, and the
alcohol made him talkative. He smiled at Brunell and said,
“Brunell, we were supposed to discuss the engagement with
your parents here, but since they went abroad on vacation, I can
only talk to you. You and Tila grew up together, so it’s about
time to get engaged.”
Brunell had no problem with it, he already liked Tehila.
He nodded with a smile, “You’re right, uncle, let’s do it three
months later.”
Tehila was surprised. She asked, “Bruno, why do we have to
wait three months? Are you really busy with work these days?”
Three months later, she wanted to get pregnant with Brunell’s
baby, so no one could take Brunell away.
Seryna just wasn’t her match.
But she wanted to make Brunell completely her man.
Brunell put down his fork, looking indifferent. He pulled out a
napkin and wiped the corner of his mouth before saying, “Tila,
you heard it too, Mr. Hatfield is back. He’s got a few new

projects lately. Our Fortin family might be the top family in
Calford, but Mr. Hatfield is the richest man in the world.
Working with the Hatfield family would take our company to
the next level. I’m going to be really busy these next few
months.”

They were about the same age, but only Calbert could be Mr.
Hatfield.
“Oh, so that’s how it was. Then Bruno could focus on work first,
and we set it for three months later. It would be winter by then.
Even though it was a bit cold, it was still pretty good.”
Brunell couldn’t help but kiss her soft cheek: “The little girl’s
grown up and wants to get married.”
“Bruno, you were bad…”
Their laughter and joy mixed together.
The vibe was unusually good. Tehila suddenly looked at Seryna.
Tonight, she wanted Seryna to understand her position. With
red eyes, she asked, “Sera, if we hadn’t been switched, you’d be
the one marrying Bruno. I’m marrying Bruno–you’re not mad,
right?”
“If you didn’t agree, I would quit too.”

Everyone’s eyes all turned to Seryna.
The Seryna who got called on looked at her with a half–smile.
This Tehila was kind of fake but not smart. Saying something like that at a time like this, was she trying to prove how
important she was to Brunell?
Brunell loved her so much, even if she was the nanny’s
daughter, Brunell wouldn’t give up on her.
But Brunell’s parents weren’t back yet, so Brunell couldn’t
decide, and that’s why it got pushed back three months. Then
Tehila just had to be dumb and asked the same question again.
Although Brunell was the heir of the Fortin family, he cared
more about profit, and the Willard family’s reputation was take
it or leave it.
The Fortin family had a lot of choices.
A man in power, when faced with interests, wouldn’t back
down for feelings.
In the world, all good men in love were idealized.
But if she came to her herself, then she wouldn’t hold back?
She spoke in a soft, gentle tone: “Tila, I didn’t say a word. Are

disagreed?”
Jeremiah heard what she said and snapped, “Seryna, Tila was
just asking you. Did you have to be so aggressive?”

Seryna stood up and looked at her dad with concern. “Dad’s not
feeling well today, I don’t want to upset him. Anyway, their
relationship is between the two of them, what does it have to do
with me, someone who came later? She asked me in that fake
sweet way if I agreed or not? What does she want? You’ve been
her brother for over twenty years, you should know better
than me what she means by those questions.”
Seryna didn’t wait for Jeremiah to speak and looked at her dad.
Her clear black–and–white eyes were full of grievance. “Dad, I’ll
find my own love. There’s no need to fight for a man who
doesn’t belong to me. You guys keep talking, I’m going upstairs
to rest.”
Seryna finished talking and left, giving Rashad a cheeky smile.
Tehila was stunned. Seryna didn’t act the way she was supposed
to, which made Tehila look like a green tea girl. Her innocent
girl persona totally fell apart.
Jeremiah didn’t look so good, and Seryna was too rebellious.

Only Jennett felt really bad. Since Seryna came back, she hadn’t
called her mom even once, but she was really nice to Rashad.
“Hehe-” Rashad really liked his daughter.
He looked at Brunell: “Brunell, little girls just mess around, don’t
mind it.”
Tehila said with tears in her eyes, “Dad, it was me who said the
wrong thing just now. I’ll go apologize to Sera.”
