“I know I have no money, but my love for them is no less than yours!”
Mrs. Grant’s eyes flashed with guilt: “We’ll give you five million as compensation, and also allow you to freely visit the Grant family”
I looked insulted, but quietly curled my lips inwardly.
What I wanted was the money.
If Isabella is not doing well in the Grant Family, I can take her back anytime. This money is her
backup.
“Mrs. Grant, I’ve never spent a day with my biological daughter. Let her stay at my place for a week, so I can properly see her, and then I’ll send her back to you.”
A hint of hesitation flashed in Mrs. Grant’s eyes, and I seized the opportunity.
“Just one week, you wouldn’t be so unreasonable, would you?”
Mrs. Grant wavered and was about to agree when Evelyn’s face turned pale.
She didn’t want to live with her poor mother for a week; this week was crucial for her.
In the book, when Isabella first returned to the Grant Family, Evelyn overtly and covertly accused her of having no upbringing, being an outsider, making Isabella feel no sense of belonging to the Grant Family.
The Grant couple, in contrast with the elegant and well–mannered Evelyn, also had quite a few complaints about Isabella and became distant, laying the groundwork for Isabella’s future
exclusion.
I won’t let what happened in the book happen again. Evelyn must leave the Grant Family for these few days, allowing Isabella to build a relationship with the Grants.
Seeing Evelyn about to make excuses, I hurriedly spoke first.
“Evelyn, I know I’m poor, unskilled, and can’t compare with Isabella’s wealthy biological parents. It’s only right for you to look down on me.”
“I’m not asking you to be with me, just to stay with Mom for a week, is that too much to ask?”
I looked at Evelyn with tearful eyes, full of heartbreak.
With the Grants present, she couldn’t outright refuse me. She didn’t want to bear the reputation of being an unfilial daughter or ruin her image in the eyes of the Grants.
After all, she’s aiming to win their affection through her pure and sensible demeanor.
Evelyn’s face grew stiff, and she forced a smile, “Ms. Saunders, what are you saying? How could I despise you? It’s just…”
I didn’t let her continue with her “just,” excitedly saying, “Great, I knew you’d agree. You might as

well stay, have your things sent over, and now I’ll take you to see your room.”
After speaking, I tightly grasped Evelyn’s arm, pulling her inside, “Mr. and Mrs. Grant, rest assured, I’ll take good care of Evelyn!”

An additional ten million dollars appeared in my account, transferred by the Grants.
They sent me a message, mostly instructing me to take good care of Evelyn, and mentioned changing Isabella’s last name.
I agreed.
It’s just a surname. If it can make Isabella’s future better, what’s the harm in changing it?
Evelyn looked displeased but had no choice. She angrily lay down in the guest room I had prepared for her.
As I passed by her room, I could vaguely hear her whining on the phone, complaining to her Grant parents.
“Mom, you have no idea what I ate tonight! Ms. Saunders didn’t treat me well at all; there was no meat!”
“I know you gave
