Isabella wiped away the tears and shook her head strongly: “To meet such a good mom like Ms. Saunders, and to be recognized by the Grant family, I am content. Other than that, I have no
other desires.”
In this warm and harmonious atmosphere, Evelyn’s face turned green.

Without Evelyn’s interference this time, Mr. and Mrs. Grant felt heartbroken for Isabella having experienced hardships with me, holding guilt and showering her with love.
And through my multiple operations, the couple also had reservations about Evelyn.
At school, everyone knew that Isabella was the true heiress of the Grant Family. They treated her with great respect and would never bully her.
Everything was moving in a positive direction until a month later, when I received a call from the hospital.
“Hello, are you the birth mother of Miss Evelyn Grant? She fell from the third floor and is undergoing surgery at the hospital right now.”
My eyelid twitched fiercely, and a terrible premonition surged in my heart.
When I rushed to the hospital, what I saw was Mr. Grant harshly slapping Isabella.
In that instant, my entire body froze.
Seeing that the next slap was about to land on my daughter’s face, I hurriedly grabbed his hand to stop him.
“What are you doing! Can’t you talk things over calmly? What does hitting a child solve?”
Mr. Grant took two heavy breaths, glaring fiercely at Isabella, pointing a finger at her forehead saying, “What am I doing?”
“Ask your precious daughter what she’s done!”
I looked down to see Isabella’s face was numb, her eyes hollow: “Mom, I didn’t push Evelyn down
the stairs.”
My heart twisted, and I quickly comforted her, “I believe you. Isabella would never do such a thing!”
Mrs. Grant cried tearfully, “Are you still denying it? We all saw you push Evelyn.”
“I can’t believe I raised such a malicious daughter like you.”
“Evelyn has taken your place for over ten years, but it’s not her fault. Why can’t you accept her?”
Mr. Grant wearily rubbed his forehead and said in a tone of magnanimity, “When Evelyn recovers, apologize to her. Considering you’re our biological daughter, let’s put this behind us.”

2 Chapter 2
“Evelyn is a kind and gentle child; she will forgive you.”
In an instant, I felt my hand clutched tightly.
Isabella’s lips turned pale, and she looked at the ‘benevolent‘ couple in front of her with deep
sorrow.
I sighed. Despite all precautions, I never expected Evelyn would gamble with her own life.
“I believe Isabella. If she says she didn’t do it, then she certainly didn’t.”
“On the contrary, you two parents are truly ridiculous. You refuse to trust your biological daughter. Do you really think Isabella would do such a thing?”
Mr. and Mrs. Grant hesitated to speak, but I didn’t wait for them. I took Isabella and left the hospital directly.
“If you’re going to treat Isabella poorly, then give her back to me.”
“From today onwards, Isabella has nothing to do with the Grant Family.”

I thought that by taking Isabella away from the Grant Family, the matter would end there.
But I didn’t expect Evelyn to be unsatisfied; she wanted to see us ruined.
A week later, a video went viral online. In the video, Evelyn, clad in hospital clothes with a pale
face, accused Isabella and me of heinous acts.
She said Isabella was jealous of her looks and parental affection, constantly ostracizing her in secret, even pushing her off the third floor.
She also claimed that I was a malicious mother and had been abusing her during the week she
lived with me.
With the Grant Family’s operational prowess and the natural attention garnered by the wealthiest family, Isabella and I became public outcasts.
When I went grocery shopping, people around us pointed and whispered.
“That’s the Saunders mother and daughter. They look quite innocent, but who knew they were such malicious people.”
“The Grant Family kindly took them in, and they repaid kindness with betrayal. You really can’t judge a book by its cover!”
With a calm face, I held Isabella’s hand and kept walking forward, gripping her hand tighter.
I went to the small stall where I often buy groceries, but unexpectedly, the stall owner looked at me, quickly packed up, and fled.
