Chapter 8
The piercing screams echoed through the entire banquet hall, blood gushing out and splattering onto Sylvie’s snow–white skirt, resembling blooming red plum blossoms.
The surroundings instantly became chaotic, with screams echoing one after another.
Sylvie, however, was surprisingly calm. She looked coldly at everyone and said with a slight smile, “I apologize for any inconvenience. My mother passed away early, so I never had anyone to teach me. Therefore, when I have a grudge-”
She pulled out the knife, blood splattered on her face: “I reported it on the spot.”
Clarisse’s painful cries echoed throughout the entire auction house, while Sylvie simply dropped the knife and walked away.
When she reached the door, her wrist was suddenly grabbed tightly by
someone.
Alaric seemed to have hurried over after hearing the news, holding a blanket, hand warmer, and brown sugar in his hands.
A sharp pain pierced Sylvie’s heart.
He had gone to buy these things for Clarisse.
”
“Have you lost your mind?” Alaric’s face turned terrifyingly cold. “Just because of a necklace, you dare to harm someone? If she does something even more displeasing to you, are you going to kill her?”

His grip was extremely tight, as if he wanted to crush her wrist bones. Sylvie endured the pain and said with red eyes, “Why don’t you ask her what she did? She took my mother’s necklace…”
“Even if she took the necklace to feed the dog, you cannot harm her!” Alaric interrupted sternly.
This sentence stabbed into Sylvie’s heart like a knife.
She suddenly laughed, laughing so hard that tears streamed down her face. “So, now that I’ve done it, how does Mr. Savrelle plan to ‘discipline‘
me?”
“I can’t control you anymore,” Alaric said coldly. “Someone, take her to the police station, charge her with intentional injury, and detain her for three days.”
Sylvie suddenly looked up, unable to believe her ears.
Did he really want to put her in jail for Clarisse?
She bit her lip tightly until she tasted blood, but she didn’t say a word, allowing the police to take her away.
At last glance, she saw Alaric holding Clarisse horizontally, whispering, “Don’t cry, I’m here.”

The three days in the detention center were the worst three days of Sylvie’s life.
She was locked in the dirtiest and messiest cell, and the female inmates she shared the cell with were clearly instructed to torture her in various
ways.
On the first day, she was stripped naked for inspection, and cold water

was poured all over her body.
The next day, glass shards were mixed into her food, causing her to be so hungry that her stomach was twisted in pain.
On the last day, several female inmates pinned her down in the bathroom stall, raining down punches like drops of rain.
“I heard you offended the wrong person,” the woman sneered, grabbing her chin. “Mr. Savrelle said he wants to teach you a lesson.”
Sylvie curled up on the ground, her eyes red and swollen.
She didn’t believe Alaric would go this far, but every wound on her body reminded her –
He was really able to be ruthless.
Three days later, when the police finally came to release her, Sylvie could barely stand.
She walked out of the detention center with bruises all over her body, and just as she stepped out of the gate, she fainted.
When I woke up again, I was in the hospital ward.
“Have you learned your lesson this time?” Alaric stood by the bed, his voice cold.
