Chapter 16
Delilah saw the look in Julian’s eyes–cold, merciless, and burning with rage.
And in that moment, she knew.
She wasn’t getting out of here unharmed.
Her voice trembled, all that polished arrogance gone in an instant.
“W–What do you think you’re doing?”
“I’m warning you–I’m a lawyer. If anything happens to me, the law will be all
over
you.‘
Julian let out a sharp, humorless laugh.
“A lawyer?” he sneered. “Delilah, if it weren’t for me, do you really think you’d have made it this far?”
“I built you. And I can just as easily tear you down.”

“I’m going to make you feel every bit of pain and humiliation Savannah and her sister went through. Slowly. Personally.”
the orway, yes gleaming with menace.
Delilah’s
Panic surged through her.
when
She scrambled forward on her knees, dragging her injured hand, and clutched the hem of Julian’s pants.
“Julian, please… I was wrong. I made a mistake. I never should’ve lied to you, never should’ve set you up. But swear I love you.”
“Savannah’s sister is gone. Savannah’s not coming back either.”
“She knows you tricked her into signing the divorce papers.”
“It’s over between you two. There’s no going back. So why not choose me? We could still have a future… We could start a family.”
She looked up at him, eyes brimming with tears, still clinging to the fantasy that she might become Mrs. Ford.
But Julian just closed his eyes. The rage and guilt in his chest twisted like a knife. And when Delilah mentioned the divorce papers–his heart cracked wide open.
Of course Savannah knew. And of course, she would never forgive him.”
After everything… there really was no going back.
He opened his eyes and looked down at Delilah, his voice rough and low. “You’re right. You were calculated. And cruel.”
“There’s nothing left between Savannah and me.”
“I’ve finally accepted that.”
“And that’s exactly why I’m going to make sure you suffer.”
“Because maybe then, just maybe… Savannah will find it in her heart to forgive me.‘
And just like that–Delilah’s last hope shattered.
Julian turned and walked away without a second glance
Her screams erupted seconds later–raw, gut–wrenching screams that tore through the walls.
But it didn’t last long.
Soon, the screaming turned to sobbing.
And then to fury.

“You bastard!” she shrieked behind him. “You’re the one who came after me! You’re the one who used me! How dare you blame everything on me!”
“Savannah will never forgive you. Not in this lifetime.”
“I hope you rot in hell, Julian Ford! Even if I die, I’ll curse you with my last breath!”
Julian’s hands curled into fists. His jaw locked so tightly it felt like his teeth might shatter.
He halted at the threshold, jaw clenched as Delilah’s shrieks twisted into
curses behind him.
Then, without turning around, he snapped at his assistant, voice cold and cutting. “What are you waiting for? Shut her up. I want that tongue gone.”
The assistant snapped into action, summoning two guards to carry out the order.
Five minutes later, the noise stopped.
But Julian’s chest didn’t feel any lighter.
If anything, it felt heavier.
He stumbled down the hall, the walls of the estate closing in on him, until he reached the private chapel his parents had once built at the far end of the villa.
He’d never believed in God. Or fate. Or redemption.
But tonight, with his world falling apart around him, it was all he had left to cling to.
Julian dropped to his knees before the small altar, not because he believed but because he had nothing left.

“God, I know I never prayed. Never asked for anything. But if you’re real… if you’re listening… just this once. I’ll give you anything. Just tell me where she is.”
Tears slid down his face, dripping onto the marble floor beneath him. “Please. I can’t lose her. Not like this.”
And as if the heavens had finally heard him, a voice called out behind him–an assistant, breathless with urgency.
“Mr. Ford… we found something.”
“Mrs. Ford and her mother… they’ve wiped all their records. Vanished.”
