Chapter 102
Seeing her really dialing the emergency call, the man’s expression finally changed.
“Wait…wait!”
He gritted his teeth, his dark eyes glaring at Paulette and Tabitha as if he wanted to eat them, “I’m the one who hates trouble the most, and today I’m unlucky. Twenty thousand dollars! I spent more than that on buying things for her!”
Paulette looked at the girl by the window.
She still had a disdainful expression, but she didn’t argue back.
“Okay, I’ll give it to you.”
Paulette handed over the money, the man grumbled and left. The people around who had gathered to watch quickly returned to their seats, looking a bit disappointed.
Tabitha raised her eyebrows and looked at her with a half–smile, “What do you want me to do? You don’t expect me to be grateful, do you?”
“You don’t have to thank me.”
Paulette said lightly. “Even if it’s a stranger, I might do the same.”
Tabitha snorted and didn’t say anything.
“But from a biological perspective, you are my sister, so I have a duty to look after you when I meet you,” Paulette continued, “I don’t think you are interested in dealing with me, so I will call your stepfather directly.”
Tabitha’s face froze, and she snatched the phone from Paulette who was about to make a call.
“Are you just good at telling the police or your dad? Is that all you can do. elementary school student?”
Paulette didn’t say anything, just looked at her.
Tabitha had never seen such a look before, she looked fierce, like a 21- year–old girl, there was no dignity to speak of.
But to say completely not afraid, that’s not true either..
Still had a bit of momentum.
“Okay, okay!” Tabitha rolled her eyes and said impatiently. “If you have. any questions, just ask quickly. Don’t bother me with that annoying old man!”
Paulette glanced at her phone, the message was clear.
“Take it, take it!”
Paulette glanced back at her table and whispered, “We used to eat together.”
“I..!”
Tabitha wanted to refuse, but the woman’s threat was too obvious.
Damn it!
She gritted her teeth, kicked the table hard, walked over first, and sat in
Paulette’s seat.
Paulette followed behind, couldn’t help but want to laugh a little.
Thought he had a lot of personality.
Paper tiger, you know.
She sat next to Cecilia, apologizing with a smile, “Sorry Cecilia, my sister is a bit naughty, made you laugh.”
Cecilia shrugged nonchalantly and said, “I don’t mind, you choose.”
The most laid–back person should be Tabitha.
With no image to speak of, she just put her feet up on the sofa.
Paulette just glanced and didn’t say anything to stop, asking. “Who was that man just now?”
“You care about me?” Tabitha blurted out subconsciously, then
reluctantly said under Paulette’s frowning expression, “Who knows who it is? Didn’t remember the name.”
It’s really casual.
“You dare to go shopping and eat with him without even knowing him?”
“Why not? It’s the 21st century, can’t he handle rejection?” Tabitha.. snorted, reaching for a fruit cucumber to munch on. “Let me tell you, he was the one who asked me out, not the other way around.”
Paulette nodded, “How did you two meet?”
“The bar.”

Chapter 102
This is probably the only place like this.
Paulette wanted to say a few words, but then she remembered she had done something similar before, so she couldn’t bring herself to speak up.
She licked her lips and said, “Next time, don’t go out with strangers. He doesn’t even know where you live, right?”
“I wasn’t that stupid yet-”
Tabitha impatiently clicked her tongue.
“Paulette, are you annoying? Always checking on me as if you were my sister?”
After all, it was just her second encounter with that woman, no connection, no feelings, talking about sisterhood is simply absurd and ridiculous, why bother?
Paulette was silent.
After a while, he chuckled and said, “Maybe, just bored.”
She might not have many relatives, so she values blood ties a lot, even though the last time we met was just okay.
After listening to them, Cecilia couldn’t help but say, “Hey, girl, if it
made things difficult
wasn’t for your sister just now, that guy might
for you. It’s okay if you don’t thank her, but why be so rude? Is that how your parents usually teach you?”
Tabitha smirked and said, “Oh, here comes another busybody.”
“Me, no one ever taught me because my dad didn’t care and my mom didn’t love me, so I’m a bit uncultured. Sorry.”
