Chapter 116
Jeremiah didn’t know, and he never really looked into Collin’s
background, but just from his usual behavior, he knew his assistant was not simple.
This time, since the other party was able to lock Paulette’s location three times and sneak her out of the community without anyone noticing, they must have been well prepared.
Collin was able to find Paulette so quickly, it wasn’t just luck.
Jeremiah looked up at the ceiling, closed his eyes.
Nelson…Reuben…Paulette.
He felt as if an invisible hand was gradually enveloping his peaceful life.

One morning. Paulette was woken up by the sunlight outside the window. She instinctively shielded her eyes and reached out to feel the warm sunlight in a daze.
A new day has come.
Jeremiah was right, everything will pass.
“Paula, did you get up?”
Larissa’s voice came from outside the door, gentle and patient, “I stewed some snow pear for you to drink while it’s hot. If you’re still not getting up, I’ll keep it warm for you.”
Today was a workday, so Paulette should have gone to the office.
She replied, “No need, Larissa, I’ll get up right away.”
Quickly got up, washed up, and changed clothes.
Paulette looked at herself in the mirror, and though she looked pretty good, her complexion wasn’t great.
Put on some makeup then.
Just sketched a few strokes.
She pulled out a satisfied smile and went downstairs from the room.
As usual, Jeremiah was sitting at the dining table, holding his phone, sipping coffee, and checking stocks.
Paulette greeted with a smile, “Morning.”
“Morning.”
The man looked up and saw her makeup face with a slight sparkle in her eyes, “Looks like you had a good sleep last night.”
“That’s all thanks to Mr. Swanson.” Paulette sat down, deftly picked fork and put a fried egg into his bowl, “This is a reward for Mr. Swanson!”
“Reward?”
“Well, your comfort was really helpful, keep it up!”

Paulette said this for the first time, then ignored the man’s surprised look and focused on eating breakfast.

She never thought of herself as a shy person, but when it comes to flirting or something like that… she’s not really good at it.
There will be plenty of opportunities in the future, you can slowly get
used to it.
Jeremiah came to his senses, chuckled lightly, and calmly picked up the fried egg, saying softly, “It’s my honor to have Ms. Davenport’s approval. I will stay calm and strive for excellence in all aspects to satisfy Ms. Davenport.”
So Paulette started to feel embarrassed and said, “You don’t have to be too excellent, just average excellence is fine.”
She didn’t know that when Jeremiah said all aspects, it also included that aspect.
Not long after, the man will practice what he preaches and asks her if she’s had enough.
Jeremiah knew Paulette wouldn’t stay at home obediently, so he decided to personally drive her to the company.
“Both downstairs and upstairs are covered by surveillance cameras, your company also has its own monitoring system, and security guards, so don’t be afraid, if you notice anything suspicious, call me immediately.”
He said a lot of things, but Paulette just remembered this one.
“I know, I’m not that fragile.”
She smiled and looked up, “So don’t worry too much about me, I’ll take care of myself.”
Looking at the girl’s bright face, Jeremiah’s heart melted, and he softly said, “I’ll pick you up for lunch, let’s eat together.

“Sure.” Paulette suddenly remembered Cecilia and hesitated before
saying, “I have a colleague who I get along well with, should I invite her to join us for lunch?”
Jeremiah’s eyebrows twitched slightly, but he didn’t say anything.
Paulette thought he didn’t want to, and said to himself, “If you’re not comfortable, just forget it, anyway…”
“Sure.”
“Ah.”
“Sure.” Jeremiah looked ahead, his face expressionless. “You take a look at what dishes you want, I’ll order.”
Paulette was surprised that he agreed so readily, she thought Jeremiah wouldn’t like this kind of socializing.
She said, “Anything is fine, we’re not picky eaters.”
We arrived at the company during a casual chat.
Jeremiah took Paulette to the elevator and reminded her again, “If you notice anything wrong, give me a call.”
“I know, I know,” Paulette felt her heart bubbling in her chest, she moved behind him to hide her smile, pushing him, “Hurry up, Mr. Swanson, you’re going to be late for work.”
Jeremiah had no choice but to leave
with her at the same time.
He got into the car and gave Collin a call.
“Arrange two people to keep an eye on the Dreammaker downstairs, don’t miss any suspicious activity.”
Collin promised decisively, “Mr. Swanson, don’t worry, I will never let
Ms. Davenport make any mistakes again!”
