Chapter 4
Mom and Ethan dragged my broken body to the kidnappers‘ location like I was garbage being taken out.
The whole drive, they kept apologizing through tears.
“Lily, don’t hate us. We can’t let anything happen to Olivia.”
“You’ve had EVERYTHING handed to you since birth. Olivia’s been called every name in the book for 20+ years just for being born.”
“Think of it as repaying me for raising you, okay?” Mom’s tears fell on my face–cold as ice. I shivered uncontrollably.
I couldn’t fight back. My shattered legs couldn’t support my weight anymore.
The moment we saw Olivia, Ethan sprinted to her and wrapped her in his arms, his eyes bloodshot with panic.
“I thought I’d lost you forever.”
Funny thing–years ago, he’d cried like that for me too.
“We brought her! Now let my son and grandson go!”
Mom shoved me into the kidnapper’s hands. He looked at me with a twisted smile.
“Poor little rich girl. Your own sister got your husband. How pathetic is that?”
“If my life was this sad, I’d just end it all.”
Ethan’s head snapped up. I caught a flash of conflict in his eyes.
“How much do you want? A million? Ten million? A hundred? I can pay it!”
“Give Lily back to me!”
Ethan was trying to negotiate.
But Olivia, now freed from her restraints, grabbed his arm frantically.
“Noah needs a hospital now! He’s lost too much blood–he’s unconscious! He’ll DIE if we don’t hurry!”
“This is all Lily’s sick game anyway. She’ll be fine.”
The air went ice–cold. Through half–closed eyes, I watched them rush away with Olivia.
Leaving me alone with the kidnapper.
The second they were gone, he grabbed my hair and smashed my head against the wall over and over and OVER.
Blood poured down my forehead into my mouth. Metallic. Bitter.
“Never seen a rich bitch bow before. Let’s see you do it a few times.”
“Pathetic. They just threw you away like trash.”
The kidnapper laughed, then got bored when I didn’t scream or
beg.
“Olivia said no witnesses. Don’t blame me–you messed with the wrong people.”

Chapter 4
The kitchen knife RIPPED into my stomach–twisting, tearing.
Pain exploded through my body like fire, drowning out everything else.
If there’s another life after this one, I never want to see any of them again…
