Chapter 7
“Ray–Ray, let me explain…”
Raelyn’s hand trembled from the force she’d used, blood spattering across her knuckles. She ignored it and reached for the nurse call button.
Skylar rushed forward and grabbed her hand.
“Sister, stop! I know you’re jealous of me, that you can’t stand anyone being nice to me.”
“But you can’t treat Knox like this. He’s your future husband–how can you show him no respect at all?”
Suddenly, a flash of excitement crossed Skylar’s eyes as she pulled Raelyn’s hand toward her own face.
“Hit me instead. If you’re angry, take it out on me. Hit me and leave Knox alone!”
Raelyn could easily have pulled away, but seeing Knox reach out to help Skylar up, she gritted her teeth and followed through with Skylar’s motion, slapping her hard.
The woman screamed, her cheek immediately swelling and reddening.
Knox’s expression tightened:
“Ray–Ray, it’s my fault. The situation was urgent, and you and Skylar look so alike–I mistook one for the other. I swear it won’t happen again.”
But after Raelyn’s wounds were bandaged and the three of them left the hospital by car, the vehicle turned into a small alley.
Over a dozen motorcycles surrounded the car, and a man in a black suit carrying an iron rod opened the door.
Skylar screamed in fear, hiding in Knox’s arms.
The man didn’t even glance at her, instead dragging Raelyn out of the car.
“Lord Kingston sent me to teach you a lesson. Either take a hundred slaps from us, or we break your husband’s legs.”
Several men made a show of restraining Knox.
He shouted angrily: “Come at me instead! Don’t hurt my wife!”
Raelyn found it laughable. “Then break his legs.”
Everyone present froze.
Skylar was the first to scream: “How can you be so vicious! It’s just a hundred slaps–you won’t die from that. But if Knox’s legs are broken, who will fix
them?”
“Yes, what would someone do without legs?” Raelyn’s gaze fell on Knox’s legs. “I wonder if Lord Kingston has ever broken his legs before, if he knows what it’s like to be without them.”
Knox’s struggling momentarily stopped.
The man in the suit had already slapped Raelyn hard across the face.
In the quiet alley, only the sound of slaps could be heard. Knox never once tried to stop it.
Raelyn had never felt such hatred before.

Chapter 7
Her teeth bit into her lip until it was a bloody mess.
She had only slapped Skylar once, and that woman had asked for it.
Yet Knox wanted her to receive a hundred slaps in return.
And he was putting on a show for her, pretending to be willing to do anything for her. It made her sick.
She swore that someday she would return all this suffering.
After fifty slaps, Raelyn’s face was terribly swollen. Her skin looked ready to split open at the slightest touch, with streaks of blood seeping through. It was too painful to continue.
She noticed the suited man secretly signaling to Knox, as if asking: “Should we continue?”
But Knox just stared at her for a moment before subtly gesturing with his left hand to continue.
Raelyn squeezed her eyes shut.
The suited man had raised his hand high, but it didn’t come down.
Raelyn heard an angry shout: “What do you think you’re doing?! Is there no justice left?!”
She looked up.
A striking woman stepped out of a Rolls–Royce, striding forward with fury in her voice.
