Chapter67
“I don’t know either, just now Ms. Webster said she wanted to
try on the dress, but then she found out it was torn. She asked
me what happened, and I couldn’t answer.” Katheryn got more
and more anxious as she spoke, tears streaming down her face.
“Britney, what should I do? I heard Ms. Webster say that dress
was really, really expensive…”
“I’ll go take a look, don’t worry yet.” Britney hurried to the
storage room.
Bianca was still there. When she saw Britney coming, she raised
her eyebrows and said, “I was just about to look for you, Britney.
You got this dress back, right?”
Britney answered calmly, “Yes, I ironed it myself and hung it in
the closet. The dress was fine at that time.”
“So what’s going on now?” Bianca’s tone got sharp without her
noticing, full of a superior’s arrogance. “Give me an
explanation.””
Britney first checked the damaged part of the dress, and it was
caused by something pulling on it.
Chapter67
And the tear was right on the front of the dress, around the
waist and stomach, so there wasn’t even a chance to fix it.
“This was the dress Rod had custom–made for me at ‘Blossom
Apparel‘ a month in advance. Never mind the price, the
celebration party was tomorrow and I was counting on wearing
- it. Now the dress was ruined–who was supposed to take
responsibility for this?”
Bianca had such a strong presence that Katheryn next to her
didn’t even dare to breathe.
“After the dress was picked up, did anyone else touch it?”
Britney asked Katheryn.
Katheryn shook her head, “No, it was just when Ms. Webster
said to try it on that we found the dress was damaged.”
That is to say, only two people handled it from start to finish.
One was Britney, the other was Bianca.
Although she wasn’t sure if the dress was ruined by Bianca on
purpose, what she could be sure of was that this was aimed at
her.
She wasn’t someone who looked for trouble, but that didn’t
mean she was afraid of it.
Chapter67
Since the thing already came to her, she had no reason to hide.
“Katheryn, tell the security guys to check the cameras.” Britney
told Katheryn right away.
Bianca stayed calm, like the damage to the dress really had
nothing to do with her.
After the security team checked, Britney got a few useful pieces
of information.
After the dress was picked up, only three people went in and
out of the storage room and had a chance to touch the dress.
Britney, Katheryn, and Bianca.
But there wasn’t any surveillance in the storage room, so there
was no way to check for direct evidence that the dress was
damaged.
Katheryn panicked first, “It really wasn’t me, how would I dare
to ruin the dress? Even if you sold me, I couldn’t afford to pay
for it!”
Bianca sneered, “Was it me? This dress was custom–made for me
by Rod. I treasure it so much, why would I ruin it? If it got
ruined, what would I wear tomorrow?”
Chapter67
The implication was, the problem was with Britney.
“Maybe someone was just jealous and did it on purpose to ruin
my dress so I couldn’t go to this important celebration dinner.”
With her leading like that, even Katheryn glanced at Britney.
Bianca’s phone happened to ring right then.
She glanced at the caller ID, her eyes lit up right away, and she
answered sweetly, “Rod, I was just about to call you. The dress
you ordered for me is broken.”
