Although it was a bit weird, Britney didn’t think much about it.

was naturally freer than others.

On Thursday, Federico asked Britney out for dinner to talk
about possible problems they might run into at the party. They

work on time.
But she didn’t expect Rodrick would come back to the office
before she got off work.
At that time, Britney was about to go into his office to hand in
her resignation letter, and they just ran into each other like that.

Rodrick’s dark eyes paused on her for a moment, then finally
landed on the resignation letter in her hand.

He gave a light scoff and walked toward the office.
Britney was about to go in when Federico showed up.
“Rod.” He called himself Rodrick first.
Rodrick paused for a second and looked at Federico with a cold
stare, “Why are you here?”
Federico said, “I’m here to pick up Britney.”
He looked at Britney and smiled, “We planned to have a meal
together. I happened to be nearby, so I came to pick her up.”
Britney didn’t expect Federico to come upstairs, and she really
didn’t expect him to run into Rodrick.
If it was before, she would’ve definitely explained herself.
After all, her relationship with Rodrick was different back then.
But there wasn’t any need for that now.
She just hadn’t had time to answer yet, and Rodrick spoke up

Royarch Capital? Using work hours to flirt with someone?”

“Now that I’m off work, I don’t have to follow Royarch Capital’s
rules anymore, right? Mr. Livingston!”
After she finished speaking, she just turned around and went to her desk to pack up her things, not looking at Rodrick’s face
anymore.
Rodrick didn’t look good right now, his whole vibe was cold and

Federico’s attention was on the resignation letter in Rodrick’s
hand, “Rod, as far as I know, Britney already handed in her
resignation to you a while ago, right? Why haven’t you
approved it yet?”
“This is Royarch Capital’s business.” Rodrick put away the resignation letter, his face blank, giving off a strong sense of pressure. “It had nothing to do with you.”
“I sure wouldn’t get involved in your company’s internal affairs.” Federico smiled faintly.
Rodrick didn’t have much tone, “That would be best.”
Federico still kept that faint smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes.
“As a friend, I just wanted to remind you, if she really wanted to leave, you couldn’t stop her.”
On the day of the Gnome Gala, Britney got there a bit late
because of traffic.
