Soon after, Raelyn became pregnant.
It caught the Blackstone family completely off guard.
The family quickly had them register their marriage and found the earliest auspicious date to hold a proper wedding ceremony.
After all, if they waited much longer, Raelyn wouldn’t fit into her wedding dress.
Looking in the mirror, Raelyn still couldn’t quite believe it.
Vincent was like a puppy, nuzzling his chin against the crook of Raelyn’s neck.
“It’s you, it’s really you.”
“I’ve only ever loved one person–Raelyn. From beginning to end.”
Raelyn’s eyes reddened.
At the wedding, with no father to attend, Grandpa Blackstone personally escorted Raelyn down the aisle.
All the guests knew that Grandpa Blackstone was the most respected person in the Blackstone family.
It seemed that for the Blackstone family, Raelyn was far more than just a marriage alliance.
Step by step, she walked to Vincent, who immediately pulled her into his embrace.
“Raelyn, I love you, and I’ll never leave you in this lifetime.” Raelyn pouted.
“If you dare leave me, I’ll run away with our baby.”
“Your son is my hostage now, Young Master Blackstone. Be smart about it.”
They couldn’t help but laugh together.
When Raelyn walked down from the stage, she saw several unexpected people.
“Brother… Julian?”
“How did you know I was getting married?”
Her birth parents, whom she hadn’t seen for a long time, now seemed somewhat unfamiliar to Raelyn.
Mr. Winters‘ words caught in his throat.
He could only say stiffly:
“We came to see you.”
If they hadn’t fallen out with Raelyn, today they would have become in–laws with the prestigious Blackstone family.
But it was too late for regrets now; things could never go back to how they were before.
Mrs. Winters couldn’t help grabbing Raelyn’s hand.
“Raelyn, please help your sister. Ask Knox for a favor, he’ll listen to you.”

“Please ask him to stop torturing your sister, will you?”
Before Raelyn could respond.
Two pairs of hands simultaneously moved forward, separating mother and daughter.
Julian looked utterly pained: “Mom, how can you still speak for Skylar at a time like this!”
“I’ve told you she’s been bullying Raelyn all along, why won’t you believe me?”
Mrs. Winters looked miserable: “But I raised her…”
Vincent pulled Raelyn into his arms: “Go find whoever is persecuting Skylar on your own. Raelyn is my wife now, and you have no right to put your
hands on her.”
With that, he turned and walked away.
Leaving Mrs. Winters‘ heartbreaking sobs behind them.
After learning about Skylar’s situation, Raelyn felt uneasy.
Until one day when she went out to buy books and was pushed and shoved into a car by a group of people.
Then the weight finally lifted from her heart.
She knew it.
How could Knox ever let things go?
That man excelled at vengeful retaliation.
When the car arrived at the airport.
Knox personally took her hand and helped her out.
“Forgive me, Raelyn. I can’t stand up right now, so I might look a bit pathetic.”
Raelyn instinctively placed her hand over her belly, frowning as she asked, “What are you trying to do now?”
“You’re pregnant.”
In Knox’s pitch–black eyes, a storm was brewing.
“I wouldn’t dare hurt you, but he certainly didn’t hesitate.”
“Raelyn, how long have you known each other? You definitely haven’t thought this through. Once we’re abroad, I’ll help you get rid of this child.”
Raelyn’s heart jumped.
“You’re taking me out of USA?”
“That’s right.”
Knox smiled.
“Don’t worry, the Kingston family has connections. We’ll ensure your safety wherever we go.”
“You’re completely insane.”

“Yes, I am insane. I’m hopelessly insane.”
“Raelyn, you saved me back then. You were the one engaged to me. I know I was wrong now. It’s you I love, not Skylar.”
“Give me another chance. I don’t want to lose you.”
Raelyn felt utterly absurd.
Knox probably wasn’t lying.
Because his eyes–for the first time ever–showed the same tenderness as Vincent’s–that was what love looked like.
But his love was too terrifying.
She almost laughed out loud: “Knox, do you think I’m a garbage can? Taking any kind of love thrown my way?”
“Your love doesn’t even compare.”
“I gave you countless chances, and you rejected them all.”
“Knox, you’re out of the game.”
Just as the words “out of the game” fell, a bullet came whistling through the air. Knox, with his years of combat experience, quickly sensed the danger. His pupils contracted as he pulled Raelyn into his arms. The bullet passed through Knox’s left chest and lodged in Raelyn’s shoulder.
Before Raelyn could cry out in pain, she was embraced by someone else.
His voice was trembling.
“Someone help! Save my Raelyn!”
With her remaining strength, Raelyn struggled to open her eyes. Vincent was holding her, crying hysterically. Raelyn reached out to touch his cheek, but her arm lost strength and fell as she closed her eyes.
Six months later. Raelyn’s body had almost fully recovered, and with the arrival of the first snow, her child was safely born.
The Blackstone family didn’t hold any grand celebration.
The family simply sat together and enjoyed a reunion dinner.
Raelyn never returned to the Winters family.
Nor did she contact her birth parents.
Whenever she thought about it, she could only sigh.
Last winter, she had still been packing her bags, waiting to be kicked out by Skylar.
This winter, everything about the Winters family had been left behind, becoming part of her past.
As for Skylar, she finally won her divorce case against Timothy Kingston.
But she had been so tormented that she lost her ability to have children.
Knox died from Vincent’s bullet and was later buried on a hillside.
Except for his family, no one brushed away the frost and snow from his tombstone.
Raelyn heard a knock at the door. When she opened it, she found a toy motorcycle outside, which made her burst into laughter.

Vincent followed her out, “What is it, Raelyn? Who sent the little car?”
“It’s from my brother. Vincent, why don’t we visit my family sometime?”
“If that’s what you want, Raelyn, then I’m happy to do it.”
