Natalia gasped, eyes wide with disbelief.
Her wolf whimpered in pain.
What she didn’t know was that Rowan had died on the day of Evelyn’s funeral.
The day Evelyn had faked her death in the car crash and returned home, she contacted Alpha Aldric. She sent him video recordings of Rowan’s repeated attempts to harm her.
Alpha Aldric had been silent for a long time. He apologized on Rowan’s behalf, then asked Evelyn how she wanted to
handle it.
Evelyn didn’t ask for any compensation. She only demanded justice from Alpha Aldric, and for him to keep her survival a
secret.
That night, Rowan was summoned back to the pack.
The next day, he arrived at the pack house. It was also Evelyn’s funeral day.
Alpha Aldric immediately had him thrown into the dungeon, telling him to reflect and prepare to turn himself in.
But Rowan never thought he was in the wrong. He blamed everything on his birth.
That night, Rowan escaped from the dungeon.
Alpha Aldric sent warriors to chase him, but Rowan ran deep into a remote forest where he was attacked by a rogue pack
and died from blood loss.
Back in the empty living room, Natalia sat pale and shaken.
She touched her belly and, after weighing her options, decided to cling to Dante.
After all, their scandal was widely known. No Alpha besides Rowan would want her as his Luna.
With Rowan gone, Dante, no matter how fallen, was still a former Alpha. A starved wolf still outranks a pup.
And if she could just endure and hold onto Dante for five years, he might return to power one day.
But Dante’s sudden change in attitude made her uneasy. As the thought lingered, she pulled out her suitcase and
rummaged through it until she found a vial her mother had given her when she was a child.
A few months later, Natalia reached her due date.
The day she gave birth, Dante only visited the hospital briefly before leaving in a hurry.
In the hospital room, she looked at his retreating figure, tears brimming in her eyes.
“Aren’t you going to see your child?”
Dante paused, his face dark, then walked away even faster.
She had safely given birth to the heir of the Stormwatch Pack. With Evelyn gone, Dante no longer forcing her out of Frosthaven.
Even if he no longer cared for her, so what?

Everyone already assumed she and Dante were together.
Twenty days later, Natalia planned a baby shower.
That night, she begged Dante, “Please come for the baby’s sake. If you don’t show up, people will talk. He’ll grow up under scrutiny.”
Dante didn’t want to entertain her, but the child was innocent.
“…Fine.”
Ten days later, the baby shower for Draven was held as scheduled.
Since Natalia had already announced Dante’s attendance, a large number of guests arrived.
Even though everyone knew about his punishment, they still gave him face.
Natalia watched the arriving guests with a radiant smile, every graceful gesture dripping with the confidence of a true Luna–Dante’s rightful mate in her own eyes.
When Dante arrived, he overheard her openly discussing pack affairs.
His face turned cold, and he interrupted her sharply.
“Watch your words. You’re in no position to speak about pack matters in public.”
He’d said it loudly and right in front of many guests.
Natalia froze for a moment. Her face turned pale, but she forced a smile.
“I do this for the baby… Please don’t be mad. Come sit down, it’s about to start.”
She apologized softly, coaxing Dante for a while before he finally sat down, clearly unwillingly.
Meanwhile, Felicity sat in the car, watching the extravagant baby shower unfold inside the church. With a bitter smile, she dialed Evelyn’s number.
“Evelyn, I’ve printed the medical report and the paternity test like you asked. Someone will deliver a nice little gift to Dante tonight.”
Originally, she had planned to collect a strand of Draven’s hair for a paternity test, which would’ve been a tricky task.
But thanks to Natalia’s harsh treatment of the housemaids, things turned out easier than expected.
Not only did Natalia look down on the maids, she also constantly nitpicked and berated them.
So when Evelyn spoke to one of the maids privately, without even offering the money she’d prepared, the maid readily agreed to help her pull out a strand of Draven’s hair, just to vent her frustrations.
Inside the church, a guest stood on the second floor, gazing down at the crowd attending the baby shower below.
She pulled out a box filled with sheets of white paper and, with a swift motion, dumped its entire contents over the balcony.
The paper fluttered down like snow, drifting through the church air.
“What the hell is this?”

Standing beside the priest, Natalia tensed and was about to warn everyone not to touch those blank sheets when Dante, moving faster, snatched one up. It was his medical report.
He looked down–and froze.
It was a medical report with his name printed clearly at the top:
Name: Dante Vance
Sex: Male
Diagnosis: Infertility due to accidental ingestion of a witch’s fruit
Dante’s pupils contracted sharply. His grip on the report tightened until his knuckles turned white.
His face turned ghostly pale as he pulled out a second document–a photocopy of a DNA paternity report.
Conclusion: Based on the available information and DNA analysis, Dante Vance is excluded as the biological father of the
child, Draven Vance.
A third document followed–another paternity test.
Conclusion: Based on the available information and DNA analysis, Rowan Vaughn is confirmed as the biological father of
the child, Draven Vance.
The fourth set of documents consisted of printed photographs which showed Rowan and Natalia on various dates.
Dante’s face darkened as he finished reading. He turned to glare at Natalia, radiating a bone–chilling coldness, as if he
could tear her apart right then and there.
“The child isn’t mine?” he asked, his voice low and dangerous.
