Chapter 5
Celia was about to speak when Raya suddenly appeared behind them, her voice dripping with fake innocence. “Wait, didn’t you guys hear wrong? I could have sworn she said she wanted to destroy Uncle Conrad and Aunt Millicent’s graves, along with Mireya’s.”
Her soft words cut through Celia like a blade.
Celia stood there numbly, not even bothering to defend herself anymore. She knew that no matter what she said, they’d never believe her.
Sure enough, Aurelian’s face went dark. “Celia, are you kidding me? We came back when we saw the storm and you weren’t around–and this is what you’re up to? Haven’t you learned anything by now?”
Silas was absolutely livid, grabbing Celia by the collar. “Killing Mom, Dad, and Mireya wasn’t enough for you? Now you wanna desecrate their graves
too?”
Celia almost wanted to laugh.
Who exactly had she killed? Everyone was alive and well–she was the one dying here!
But before she could say a word, Silas dragged her out of the office. “Since you clearly haven’t learned anything, maybe it’s time you felt some real pain!”
He kicked her hard in the back.
“AHH!”
Celia tumbled down the stone steps, sharp edges tearing at her skin, her bones making sickening sounds as they hit each step.
She rolled down to the bottom like a broken doll, covered in blood, and finally passed out from the agony.
Hours later, Celia woke up in the freezing rain. She lay there in a pool of her own blood, completely alone. The cemetery staff had clearly been warned off–no one dared come near her.
Her ribs were probably broken, her right leg useless, and blood still poured from a gash on her forehead. Rain mixed with blood, creating little red streams on the ground.
She bit down hard and crawled inch by inch toward the nearest fence, her fingernails digging into the dirt, leaving bloody trails behind her. Every movement felt like being stabbed by a thousand needles.
Finally, she grabbed the fence and shakily pulled herself up.
One step, two steps…
Blood dripped down her pants, blooming like red flowers in the rain.
By the time she dragged herself to the hospital, got patched up, and made it back to the house, it was past midnight.
The living room lights were still on.
Aurelian and Silas sat on the couch, watching coldly as she limped through the door.
“Have you learned your lesson?” Silas asked icily.
Celia nodded numbly. “Yes.”
“Gonna try anything stupid again?”

She shook her head.
Only then did they get up and leave, satisfied.
The next few days, Celia locked herself in her room, not coming out for anything.
Until Raya’s birthday party, when they forced her to attend.
The celebration was on a luxury yacht, crystal chandeliers casting brilliant light everywhere, champagne towers sparkling in the center of the
ballroom.
Celia stood in the shadows, watching Raya shine on stage.
Aurelian knelt on one knee, slipping diamond–studded heels onto her feet. Silas stood nearby, fastening a priceless ruby necklace around her neck. Guests raised their glasses in celebration.
For a moment, Celia remembered the past.
All her childhood birthdays had been held on this very yacht.
Back then, Aurelian would drop everything to personally decorate the entire ballroom for her. Silas would drive across the city in the middle of the night just because she mentioned wanting cake from some specific bakery. Her parents would proudly tell everyone, “This is our beloved daughter.”
Now she lurked in corners like a ghost. Even the waiters deliberately avoided offering her champagne.
“And now, let’s light the birthday fireworks for Miss Raya!”
The MC’s voice snapped her back to reality.
Guests cheered and rushed toward the deck, and Celia was pushed along with the crowd.
Ocean wind brushed her face, carrying the salt air.
“BOOM-”
The first firework exploded across the night sky, lighting up the entire sea.
But suddenly, the clear night turned stormy! Dark clouds rolled in from nowhere!
“What the hell?”
“The weather report didn’t say anything about rain tonight!”
Before anyone could react, fierce winds picked up and rain came pouring down!
“AHH!”
A massive wave hit the yacht, sending it rocking violently!
Celia’s feet slipped, and she went tumbling over the rail!
At the same moment, she saw Raya get thrown overboard too!
SPLASH
SPLASH!
They both hit the water almost simultaneously.

Freezing seawater rushed into Celia’s nose and mouth. She fought desperately to reach the surface.
“Help…”
Her cries were swallowed by the waves.
Through her blurred vision, she saw Aurelian and Silas dive in without hesitation.
They swam straight toward Raya.
Not one of them even glanced in her direction.
