Chapter 20
That day, Celia went as usual to Aurelian’s company to have lunch with him. Before she could reach the Graves building entrance, Millicent intercepted her.
Aurelian had mentioned to Celia that he was currently competing with Fairborne Industries for some projects.
Fairborne Industries was an established company, but it hadn’t found transformation opportunities in recent years, so business had been lukewarm.
Aurelian had previously looked after Fairborne Industries for Celia’s sake, but now that Celia was planning to cut ties with the Fairborne family, he naturally wouldn’t continue supporting them as before.
Looking at Millicent’s somewhat disheveled appearance, Celia guessed the crisis facing Fairborne Industries must be quite serious.
“Celia, honey, Mommy knows she was wrong. Will you come home with me?”
As if afraid Celia would refuse, Millicent continued:
“Your father, brother, and I have realized our mistakes. We’ve decided to send Raya away in a few days. She’ll never appear before us again. Please forgive Mommy just this once?”
Though Celia knew Millicent was only saying this because of the company’s troubles, she was still the mother who had given birth to and raised her for over twenty years. Celia couldn’t bring herself to say anything harsh, simply brushing away her hand gently.
“Come talk to me about this after you’ve actually sent Raya away.”
With that, she walked straight past her.
Aurelian had just rounded a corner when he saw Celia walking toward him.
“Celia, I missed you so much.” He immediately pulled her into his arms.
Celia wasn’t sure why Aurelian had become so clingy since her discharge from the hospital–he’d get especially irritable if he woke up and couldn’t see her, constantly worrying as if she might leave at any moment.
“Let’s go eat. I’ve been pretty free lately, so I can spend every day with you, okay?”
“Mm.”
Downstairs at the Graves building, Raya, who had secretly followed Millicent, overheard that they planned to send her away for Celia’s sake. Towering waves of resentment immediately surged in her heart.
Some time later, seeing Celia emerge from the building, Raya impulsively followed her. Watching Celia’s carefree manner and comparing it to her own disheveled state, rage suddenly consumed her.
“Celia! It’s all because of you! Why did you have to wake up? Wouldn’t it have been better if you’d just died?!”
With that, she accelerated frantically and crashed into Celia.
Working in his office, Aurelian felt inexplicably anxious. He should have made Celia stay with him–she’d barely left and he already missed her terribly.
He picked up his phone to call her.
“Celia, come back and stay with…”
“Are you this person’s family? She was hit by a car, there’s so much blood, at… here, you need to come quickly…”

Chapter 20
Before Aurelian could finish speaking, a stranger’s voice interrupted from the phone. A car accident?
Why would Celia be in a car accident?
He’d clearly changed everything from his past life–why was Celia still facing such danger?
Panic–stricken and distraught, Aurelian rushed out of the company.
