Chapter 16
Bianca met his gaze without flinching. Her voice was calm but cold. “I don’t think I did anything wrong. If you think it’s my fault, then fine. Believe what you want. I don’t care.”
She had never spoken to him this coldly before.
Blair didn’t have time to process her change in attitude. He simply asked, “This is how you’re raising our child?”
Bianca didn’t want to explain herself or get into a long conversation. She was done.
“Yes, just as you see it,” she replied, accepting the blame.
Blair didn’t hold back either. “I guess I was right when I said Diane would be a better mother than you.”
Bianca gave him a steady look, her response unwavering. “Yes.”
Blair didn’t expect her to respond this calmly. He was stunned. “You…”
Bianca didn’t want to hear any more from him. Instead, she asked pointedly, “You all think you’re better for Winnie than I am, but how come you didn’t know about her mango allergy?”
Blair paused for a moment but then replied, his expression unchanged, “You never told me.”
Bianca didn’t want to argue any further, but she felt it was important to be clear for the sake of Winnie.

Chapter 16
She looked at Blair seriously. “Fine, listen up. Winnie is a girl. She needs to wash herself properly every day, get her vaccines every month, she can’t eat mangoes…”
She went on, listing everything in detail. After finishing, she didn’t wait for a response. Grabbing Kellie’s hand, she walked out of the
room.
After all, if she was going to divorce him, it was better to clear the air now–for Winnie’s sake.
As Bianca and Kellie reached the door of the hospital room, they collided head–on with Sandra.
With Winnie’s allergic reaction and the fact that Bianca hadn’t prepared dinner, Sandra was fuming with anger.
Without even bothering to see who she had bumped into, Sandra snapped, “Watch where you’re going! Are you in such a rush to get yourself killed?”
It wasn’t until she looked up that she saw it was Bianca.
Her anger flared even more, but before she could say another word, Bianca simply walked around her, taking Kellie by the hand as they moved past.
Lynette, following behind, gave a polite nod to Sandra as a greeting.
Sandra stood frozen for a moment, then remembered to scold Bianca, but by then, they were already far down the hall.
Realizing this, Sandra hurried to catch up for a few steps. “Bianca, are you just going to ignore your child? What kind of mother are you?”
Bianca heard Sandra’s shouting, but didn’t stop.

If she wasn’t a good enough mother, then no one could be.
She thought about the years she spent raising Winnie, filled with frustration and sadness. But the Avery family never seemed to recognize her efforts.
Sandra kept shouting, but when she saw that Bianca was out of earshot, she turned back and entered the room.
Inside, Blair was holding Winnie in his arms. Sandra, still upset, grumbled, “Didn’t you say you had work to do at the company? Why didn’t you ask Bianca to stay and be with the child?”
Blair gently settled Winnie back into bed and replied, “Winnie comes first. I’ll handle work tomorrow when I’m back at the office.”
Sandra placed the cereal she had brought on the bedside table and started spooning some into a small bowl, muttering, “You don’t even keep an eye on Bianca. She’s not taking care of the kid, didn’t cook dinner… I swear, she’s completely lost it.”
Blair took the bowl and stirred the cereal gently. “It’s fine. She’ll feel better in a few days.”
He figured Bianca was probably upset about the time he had brought Diane back to the house, but he wasn’t entirely sure.
After feeding Winnie a couple of spoonfuls, Blair seemed to have a thought. He handed the bowl to Sandra. “Mom, can you watch Winnie for a bit? I’m going to find her.”
