Chapter 7
I shrugged: “Probably at some orphanage!”
I pretended to suddenly remember something!
“Oh right. Eighteen years ago when I was at work? Security told me one day that someone claiming to be my mom wanted to drop off my son.”
“When I went down to check the cameras, I didn’t know that person at all. So I called the cops. They took the kid away–probably sent him to an
Then I w orphanage. My coworkers can back this up. You don’t believe me? Check the police records!”
Hearing this, Sophia screamed and lunged at me. But I was quicker and slapped her first!
“How dare you hit me! Mia, give me back my son!”
I laughed cold as ice: “You animal! You had your bastard kid and ran off. Then tried to dump him on me while you lived it up for ten years. Now you see my son’s successful? You come crawling back to steal credit!”
“Let me tell you something–you don’t have what it takes! You think a loser like you could produce a genius like my son? Dream on!”
“Why don’t you ask your mom who she got to deliver the kid to my company. And why she didn’t bring him herself!”
Mom panicked. Meeting Sophia’s eyes, she quickly explained: “I was afraid–afraid Mia wouldn’t wanna see me. So I paid some stranger to take him over. I was hiding nearby. I clearly saw Mia holding the baby!”
She suddenly looked at me: “Mia, how… how could you be so heartless? Send the child away? That was your own nephew!”
“That was your own grandson and you didn’t care!“.
Sophia screamed: “Shut up, all of you! My son IS William! It’s him, it has to be! Mia, you’re lying!”
The gold chain guy next to her said grimly: “How could my precious son end up in an orphanage? Sophia, if you don’t give me a proper explanation? I won’t let you off!”
Now Sophia panicked too.
I just pulled out my phone and called the cops.
Even when the police came? Not much they could do. Sophia threw a tantrum on the ground. Finally I agreed to do a DNA test–rush order.
Then my son went back to b
celebration party. I told the Harvard professor there was absolutely no mistake–all his papers were legit.
Two hours later the DNA results came back.
Sophia completely broke down–I was the kid’s biological mother.
Sophia lost it. Looked up at me in disbelief: “You really… sent my child to an orphanage?”
I shrugged: “Some random bastard kid shows up–how could I keep him? I told you a million times. Handing him over to the police meant he’d go to an orphanage.”
“If he was lucky? He’d stay at the orphanage and you could still see him.”
“If he wasn’t lucky? Maybe someone adopted him!”
“If I were you? I’d be rushing to the orphanage right now to check.”

Chapter 7
Before she could react, her man Nathan delivered a brutal slap that knocked her to the ground!
You bitch! You said you’d give me an heir. Now we don’t even know where the kid is! Whore!”
Nathan kicked her hard. Sophia screamed as Mom and Dad rushed over to protect her. But they were no match for such a middle aged man.
Only then did Mom think of me. Turned and grabbed my hand: “Mia, you gotta think of something!”
You’re just gonna watch your sister get beaten to death?”
I shook off her hand: “Didn’t you watch my sister try to destroy my life? If I hadn’t had evidence today? I would’ve been labeled a child thief–a human
trafficker!”
“You gave birth to both of us–why do you treat me like this!”
