Eileen tugged at her lips, tears spilling from the corners of her eyes. “It’s come to this point, and you still want to hide it from me?”
“Gideon wasn’t sent to the orphanage by you, was it me? Was it me?” The woman’s screams were deafening, her eyes filled with despair. “Do you know how much he suffered, how many beatings he endured? He was even forced to eat feces!”
