Ivy shot an annoyed look at the small child who’d suddenly appeared.
“Whose kid is this? Where’s the nanny? No manners at all! Mr. Grayson hates this kind of behavior!”
The little girl walked over sleepily, looking confused at the two strangers.
“I live here.”
Damon scoffed.
“These servants are getting way too bold! Bringing their granddaughter into the main house–just because Dad’s too nice, they’re pushing boundaries!”
With that, he impatiently shoved the little girl trying to walk past. She fell on her butt and started wailing, reaching toward Griffin with her arms out for a hug.
“Daddy! Daddy!”
Damon raised his hand to slap her.
“STOP!”
Griffin panicked and threw his scalding hot teacup at Damon, who jumped around yelping from the burns.
“Riley!”
Griffin rushed over and scooped up the little girl, soothing her.
“Daddy’s here, Daddy’s here.”
The little girl buried her face in his chest, crying, “I want Mommy! I want Mommy!”
Hearing this, both Damon and Ivy went visibly pale.
Damon swallowed hard, forcing out a shaky laugh.
“Heh… heh heh, Dad, you… adopted a daughter, right? She’s really cute, little sis.”
Griffin sat on the couch holding the little girl, his voice ice–cold.
“Riley is my biological daughter!”
Hearing this, Damon clenched his fists, feeling a mix of emotions.
On one hand, he confirmed the girl’s name was Riley, so the “Wendy Grayson” that Scarlett mentioned was definitely made up.
On the other hand, he resented Griffin for secretly having a child–now he couldn’t have the family fortune to himself.
“Dad, why didn’t you tell me? I wanted to care about you too.”
Griffin’s expression was frosty.

“You’re overseas doing God knows what disgusting things, partying day and night. When would you have time to care about
me?”
Damon’s face stiffened and he didn’t dare say another word.
Ivy immediately switched masks, her opportunistic attitude crystal clear–she half–knelt by the couch, trying to grab the little girl’s hand with fake sweetness.
“HI Riley, I misunderstood you before. Sorry, okay? Can you forgive me? I will take you to the amusement park next time, okay?”
Her tone shifted, trying to redirect Griffin’s anger toward Scarlett.
“Don’t blame us, Riley. We got upset because of a bad person today. This gross old woman in raggedy patched–up clothes pretended to be Riley’s mommy and said she was Mr. Grayson’s wife. We taught her a real lesson. People like that deserve to die a thousand deaths, don’t you think?”
Instead of looking pleased, Griffin frowned.
Riley started punching and kicking Ivy, screaming:
“You stink! You stink! YOU’RE the bad person! YOU’RE the bad person!”
Ivy got kicked right in the nose and tears streamed down, but she didn’t dare fight back in front of Griffin. She forced a smile and sat back down awkwardly.
Seeing how protective Griffin was of the child made Damon’s eyes burn with jealousy, but he could only grit his teeth and play
nice.
“Dad, where’s Riley’s mom? We should meet her so I can be a good son–in–law.”
Griffin’s frown relaxed into a slight smile.
“She was working overseas before, just transferred back. She comes home tomorrow–you’ll meet her then.”
Hearing this, Damon felt an ominous dread, though he couldn’t say why.
Ivy’s forehead broke out in a cold sweat.
Suddenly, the butler rushed in excitedly:
“Mr. Grayson! The missus is back! She came home early! I saw her car–it’s the company welcome gift!”
Griffin’s face immediately softened, and Riley laughed and squirmed to get down to greet her mommy.
“She always plans these surprises to make us happy.”
Ivy calmed down for a moment, convinced it couldn’t possibly be Scarlett! Scarlett was dead or dying!
Then a familiar figure walked through the door.
