Chapter 211
Sarah collected various sea creatures – starfish, crabs, and even sea snails
Zachary walked up to her, holding the bucket in one hand. His lips parted softly. “Hold out your hand *
“What?” Sarah looked at him puzzled
“Hold out your hand,” Zachary repeated
Sarah extended her hand tentatively, ready to pull back.
Zachary placed his closed fist over her palm and dropped something cool into it
A seashell
“I found it.”
Sarah looked at the shell – it was pink with rippling patterns.
“It’s beautiful.” Sfie tucked it into her pocket.
In the distance, Mia was gazing out, watching Zachary and Sarah together.
The two stood by the sea as sunset colors gradually descended, bathing them in orange–red light. It reminded her of romantic scenes from novels she’d read that’s exactly how her brother and Sarah looked.
“What are you lo
looking at, Mia?” Scarlett put her hand on Mia’s shoulder, following her gaze.
“Looking at my brother and Sarah I feel like I’ve seen this scene before, like many years ago.” Mia tapped her head.
Scarlett ruffled her hair, “Maybe it’s because they look so natural together”
It wasn’t just
Mia – she felt something magical too.
It felt like Zachary and Sarah had known each other forever. Their harmonious atmosphere was so comfortable that no one
wanted to disturb them.
Sarah walked along the shore with Zachary, their bucket of seafood sitting on the beach. The warm, soft sand made Sarah feel completely relaxed.
She walked toward the setting sun, feeling the tide rise and fall around her feet.
It had been so long since she’d felt this relaxed. She used to go shopping and traveling with Scarlett, even taking
spontaneous trips at a moment’s notice
But after marrying James, she spent every day playing the role of dutiful wife, serving her mother–in–law and sister–in–law.
She realized now that impulse could blind you, even deceive your own senses.”
She’d done it all because she thought she loved James, but after the divorce, she realized she hadn’t really loved him at all
Her gaze fell on Zachary beside her. The brilliant red sunset painted the sea crimson a spectacular sight impossible to
ignore
But he wasn’t looking at the sea or the sunset. His eyes were fixed on Sarah, gentle as still water, with a depth that seemed
vaster than the ocean and brighter than the sunset’s glow
Just when she thought she was comfortable enough with Zachary not to feel shy anymore, he could make her blush with just one look
This time, though, her glowing cheeks could be blamed on the sunset’s light

“Sasa, are you unhappy?” Zachary took her hand.
He felt something hard in her palm the sharp edges and sandy texture of the shell he’d given her
Im not unhappy. I feel relaxed.” She smiled, as if trying to prove it.
“No, since I saw you outside the apartment, I could tell your spirits were low. Is it because of yesterday?” Zachary asked
Sarah lowered her eyes slightly, “Zachary, does it really not bother you that I was married before?”
She’d never felt inferior about it and trusted that Zachary didn’t mind, but yesterday’s gossip had reached her ears. No matter how many times it happened, whenever she appeared, everyone would call her James’s ex–wife. That failed marriage had
become her shackle.
