Chapter 25
After experiencing several near–death situations, what she hated the most was the attitude of people like him who didn’t take human life seriously.
Countless times she was brought back from the brink of death, but he treated it as a harmless joke, a means to satisfy his own purposes. It was truly disgusting and repulsive!
Edgar had long been numb with pain, and seeing her like this still couldn’t help but feel a little flustered and pained in his heart.
“I’m sorry, Stephanie… I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to… It’s just that I couldn’t handle it… I couldn’t comfort you…”
His body was extremely weak, and every word he spoke almost drained him of all his strength.
Even though he was covered in blood, he still managed to reach out his hand, trying to touch Stephanie’s hand, as if he had done countless times before, holding her hand and comforting her in his arms.
However, Stephanie withdrew her hand coldly, only helped him make the emergency call and took him to the hospital,

Edgar was taken onto the ambulance by the paramedics, still gazing persistently in the direction where she was, calling out her name.
Stephanie felt extremely exhausted.
At that moment, Zayden appeared beside her and softly said, “Continuing like this could potentially affect the outcome of your experiment. You may need to find a way to make him completely give up.”

“Do you have any ideas?” Stephanie turned her head to ask him, adding, “I have already contacted his parents and family, but unfortunately it was of no help. There is nothing he can’t accomplish.”
“As long as you don’t want it, then he definitely won’t be able to do it, he said firmly, staring directly into her eyes and holding her gaze.”
Before Stephanie could react, Zayden pulled out a velvet ring box from his chest pocket.
Opening the ring box, inside were a pair of simple yet beautiful rings.
“Marry me, we agreed to get married and let him completely give up.”
Stephanie stood frozen in place, taking a long time to process what he had
said.
In order to reassure her and make her worry less, he added a few more sentences: “This project is very important. Professor Wilcox is getting old, so all he can do is help us keep track of the direction, provide ideas and check the results. Most of it will depend on the two of us leading the others to complete it.”
“I wanted to focus all my attention on completing this project without being disturbed by anyone, especially Edgar.
Upon hearing his words, Stephanie gradually let go of her worries.
She was not confident enough to think that it was her own charm that was too great, now this is more in line with Zayden’s personality.
During this time, she also knew that Zayden was a research fanatic, eager to spend every minute in the lab. It is possible that he will only relax for a while after this project ends, and think about the future direction.
Therefore, agreeing to marry him seemed like a good idea, as if it was a partnership.

Stephanie pondered for a moment and agreed to Zayden’s idea.

“To avoid any unexpected changes, we have now found someone to draft
a marriage agreement. Let’s take a leave of absence and get married in our home country!”
She said decisively.
Zayden was stunned for a moment before slowly nodding.
“Okay.”
The two people’s thoughts were extremely consistent, and the marriage agreement, which was well communicated, was also very simple. The marriage would automatically be dissolved after the end of this project.
They flew back to their country overnight, signed the marriage agreement, and then rushed to the City Hall with their personal documents.
Two marriage certificates were just issued, Stephanie and Zayden both felt like they were dreaming.
However, in order to make Edgar completely give up, they rested for a while after returning to France, changed into couple outfits, and went hand in hand to Edgar’s ward.
