Chloe spoke with the entitled flair of a rich girl, and it only made Yara admire her more. Wow. Chloe’s family must be filthy rich… I’m so jealous.

Chloe led Yara to the front desk. When she saw Clarissa was still there, her brows furrowed in irritation. “Why are you still here?
But she didn’t bother waiting for a response. Instead, she turned to the sales assistant and handed over the clothes. “We’re done trying things on–just these dozen or so pieces. Pack them up and have them delivered to my place.” done
Her so–called “place” was actually a small villa that Clarissa had bought for her, one in a luxury neighborhood, no less.
When Chloe rattled off her address, Yara’s admiration deepened. Houses there cost a fortune… Chloe’s really loaded!
“Gor it. Would you like us to remove the tags now? the manager asked with a polite smile. Just keep in mind that once the tags are cut, returns and exchanges won’t be accepted.
“Why would Miss Gosling ever need to return anything?” Clarissa chimed in lazily. “You think she’s the type who pretends to be rich, buys a bunch of clothes, then turns around and returns them? That’s kind of insulting, don’t you think?”
“I apologize if I worded it poorly,” the manager replied smoothly. Of course, Miss Gosling isn’t the type to flash cash she doesn’t have. Even if the tags were still intact, she’d never bring anything back.”
Chloe narrowed her eyes at Clarissa. What’s with her tone today? Something’s off. And the manager never made a point about removing tags before…
But Chloe didn’t dwell on it. She was too busy enjoying the way Yara was looking at her–with pure admiration. She loved. being the center of attention. And cutting the tags didn’t make a difference to her anyway.
“Cun the tags,” she instructed with a dramatic wave of her hand.
As soon as she finished speaking, the manager swiftly snipped the tags off every piece, packed the clothes neatly, and handed them over.
“Will that be credit or cash?”
“Put it on my tab, Chloe replied, growing impatient.
“I’m afraid that won’t be possible, the manager replied with a pleasant smile.
Chloe snapped her head toward her. “Why not?!”
“Miss Gosling, we checked your account. You’ve already charged a total of one million to your name at this mall, which is the maximum credit limit. If you’d like to continue shopping on account, you’ll need to settle the outstanding balance first, the manager explained
The smile froze on Chloe’s face. A credit limit?! Yara’s right here. I can’t embarrass myself in front of her! Well, good thing Clarissa’s still here!
“Clarissa! Pay for me!” she barked without hesitation, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
“You want me to pay?” Clarissa tilted her head, her tone casual and amused.
“Just cover it for now! I’ll pay you back later! Chloe could feel people beginning to stare. It was humiliating.
