Chapter 8
The man forcefully shook off Joshua’s hand and gave him a once–over before saying, “So you’re Joseph’s younger twin
brother–Joshua Coleman?”
Joshua remained silent.
The man then turned to me and asked, “And you’re the one who called Joseph?”
Samantha and Lynda happened to overhear that sentence as they walked out of the house. Everyone, except for me, froze in
shock.
Someone in the crowd couldn’t help but ask, “What do you mean by that, sir?”
“Oh, someone told Joseph that his wife and younger brother got together. Since he’s injured and couldn’t come back, I was sent to check if it’s true. To my surprise, it is!” The man cast Joshua a look that was hard to read.
That was when I realized that right after I left the telephone booth, Joseph had called his friend. In fact, shortly after I got home, the man had followed me and witnessed everything that happened.
If things went as planned, this would eventually get back to Joseph.
What I didn’t expect was for the man to be so helpful. He made sure that this situation blew up the police station.

At first, Joshua and the others refused to believe that Joseph was still alive. They

Normally, the village head would try to smooth things over, especially since this would affect the village’s reputation.
But Joseph was a soldier who risked his life protecting the country. He was fighting to keep everyone safe, but what was his
family doing?
Anyone with a conscience couldn’t just sit back and let it slide.
As such, the village head instructed several men to forcefully take all of them to the police station.
Because Joseph was a soldier, the situation escalated significantly.
The police demanded that the three of them return the death benefits, but Samantha couldn’t find the money. It turned out that Joshua had stolen the money behind her back and bought luxury items for Lynda.
Finally, the police had no choice but to ask them to hand over all their savings to fill the gap.
They were reluctant to hand over their savings, insisting on waiting for Joseph to return as they were confident that he would help them out.
Unfortunately, Joseph didn’t remember who they were anymore. The police didn’t give them any chance to make it happen
either.
Samantha, Joshua and Lynda were enraged. They injured one of the police officers and were sentenced to prison.
Before leaving, Joshua was still threatening to make me pay once he was released.
I merely smirked and said, “We can talk about it when you’re out!”
I wasn’t in a hurry to leave this place after returning home.
