Noah stared at the surveillance footage on the floor.
It showed everything. From when he pushed me down and blood–soaked my dress, to when he held me down and forced me to give blood.
Bag after bag was taken from me until my heartbeat stopped.
But all he cared about was Chloe and her child. He even told the doctor
that saving them was all that mattered.
No matter what I said, he ignored me–as long as Chloe survived, nothing else was important to him.

She threw a pile of papers in front of him.
Inside were details of Chloe’s past and the things she had done.

He finally realized he had wronged me all along.
Chloe had been lying the whole time.

Noah was kicked out of the Stinson’s residence.
He wasn’t even allowed to attend the funeral for me and our children.
All he could do was stand there, powerless, as the coffin carrying our ashes was buried in the ground.

But soon, he managed to calm down. His voice was steady as he spoke to Chloe on the other end of the line.
“I can’t leave right now. Why don’t you come over instead? I’ll send you my address.”
Hearing this, she was thrilled and booked a flight to return that same night.
But when she arrived at his house, it wasn’t the scene she had imagined- no servants standing to welcome her.
Instead, a group of well–trained bodyguards stood waiting.
A strange sense of fear crept into Chloe’s chest, but she still approached
Noah with a sweet smile.
She said cheerfully, “Mr. Stinson, it hasn’t been long, but I’ve missed you terribly.
“But even if it’s to protect me, isn’t this a bit too much?”
Noah pushed her away and looked at her coldly.
“Tell me. How did Adeline’s mom die?”
Even though it sounded like a simple question, it made Chloe panic deep down.
