Valerie’s entire body was as white as a little white kitten.
She crouched pitifully between the old man’s legs.
She swayed the few tattered strips of cloth on her body, trying to please the old man.
At that moment, Braeden was so disgusted that he vomited violently.
His slender, well–defined fingers gripped the door.
His fierce eyes glared at the two people not far away.
He curled his lips, his voice icy cold: “Grandpa, what are you and Valerie doing?”
When Valerie saw it was Braeden, her face instantly turned deathly pale. Dressed in nothing but revealing lingerie, she collapsed to the floor.
Her trembling eyes immediately filled with tears.
Her voice shook terribly: “Bray, listen to me.”
Valerie desperately tried to put on her dress, but the more flustered she became, the more she failed to dress herself properly.
Crying, Valerie crawled toward Braeden.
“Bray, Bray, I can explain.”
Stanley, however, remained completely calm, his cloudy eyes filled with the ruthless coldness of someone in power.

His deep voice said, “Bray, there’s nothing to explain here. If Grandpa says Valerie is good, then she’s good.”
But Braeden’s sinister eyes were filled with coldness.
“So Grandpa had to try her out first before letting me marry her?”
Valerie lay on the ground, crying as she clung to Braeden’s leg.
“Bray, I—I was forced, I did it for you. Your cousin has always coveted your position as CEO. The old man said if I served him, the Hernandez family would be yours in the future.”
Braeden’s face was vicious as he kicked Valerie away with a furious force.
He said coldly, “My cousin? Valerie, what right does that loser have to compete with me? Do you really think I need you to sell yourself?”
By now, Braeden no longer believed Valerie at all.
He had investigated and found out that it was all a scheme by the old man and Valerie. Valerie’s blood type couldn’t even be used for his transfusion.
The old man’s face turned completely dark as he said, “Bray, it’s just a woman. Valerie has been my woman for years. She’s just a plaything. If you want her, Grandpa will give her to you. If you don’t, she’ll end up like her mother, staying in the Hernandez family as a maid.”
Valerie screamed in terror: “No, I want to be with Bray! Bray, I like you! I was raped by the old man–he raped me when I was nineteen!”
Braeden’s cold eyes stared at Stanley.

Braeden pointed his finger at Valerie.
Valerie was instantly stunned with fear.
She kept looking at the old man, hoping he would admit it.
