chapter249
As they passed a trinket stall, the vendor called out, “Sir, buy your Mrs. a souvenir?”
The word “Mrs.” sent Elvin’s heart fluttering. A grin spread across his face as he stopped. “See anything you like? Pick whatever–my treat.”
Bianca scanned the handmade ornaments, her gaze settling on a waterwheel.
Spotting her interest, the vendor lifted it eagerly. “Fine taste, my dear! This is my priciest piece.”
Hesitation flickered in Bianca’s eyes.
Elvin cut in, “We’ll take it.” He wouldn’t miss this rare chance to gift her something she actually wanted.
“Elvin, don’t bother,” Bianca protested.
Ignoring her, he handed the vendor a thousand yuan.
The man’s smile widened at the unnegotiated payment.
He bagged the waterwheel swiftly. “Sir, you treat your Mrs. so well- she’s truly blessed!”
Taking the bag, Elvin’s lips curved. “Not my Mrs. yet,” he murmured, “but soon.”
The vendor beamed. “May you get what you want, sir!”

Elvin clicked his tongue. “Count on it.”
Turning, he offered the bag to Bianca. “Paid for. No returns.”
She hesitated before accepting it. “…Thank you.”
Elvin’s eyes gleamed. “You want to thank me? Then show it with actions, not words.”
Bianca Watts knew he meant something else, but she still took it seriously: “What kind of action do you want?”
Seeing her so earnest, Elvin swallowed back the words that almost slipped out.
He wanted to tell her to be with him, but that felt like disrespect. And since she was being serious now, joking would be inappropriate.
So Elvin finally said: “Then come float Wish Candles with me.”
Bianca had braced for what Elvin might say, but never expected this.
She froze briefly. Though confused by his thoughts, she agreed: “Alright.”
Elvin took her arm, guiding her forward.
Pushing through the crowd, he led her to a riverside stall selling paper, pens, and various Wish Candles.
A sign read: “Write your wish, float the candle–the Immortal will help fulfill it.”
Spotting Elvin and Bianca, the shopkeeper stood eagerly: “Sir, madam, here to make a wish?”

Elvin nodded. “Yes. Paper and pens, please. And two largest Wish Candles.”

The shopkeeper beamed while gathering items. “That’ll be 145, sir.”
After Elvin paid by phone, the man handed over candles and writing supplies.
Bianca accepted the paper. “We write wishes here?”
“Right,” Elvin confirmed. “Write all your wishes. The Immortal will make them come true.”
Bianca gave a bitter smile. “What Immortal?
Just our fantasies.”
Elvin paused, turning to stare blankly at her. Strands of hair framed her serene face as she looked down.
She held the pen, gaze distant as if lost in thought.
Noticing her distraction, Elvin chuckled softly: “Couldn’t I be that Immortal?”
His murmur went unheard by Bianca.
But to Elvin, that no longer mattered.
He’d fulfill her wishes regardless.
The thought made him smile involuntarily.
Bending over, he began writing his wish.
Bianca turned to peek, but Elvin cupped his hand over the paper.

“Wishes stay secret. If others see, the Immortal won’t grant them.”
His words drew laughter from her. She shrugged dismissively. “Didn’t expect such childishness from a grown man!”
Elvin shot her a look. “None of your business.”
Bianca shifted her paper away. “Then you don’t get to see mine either.”
When he tried glancing over, she angled herself beyond his view.
But that was fine. Her willingness to write was enough.
Elvin returned to his own wish.
“I hope my baby stays happy and joyful, I hope she lets go of Blair Avery, and I hope she becomes my wife.”
After writing his wish, Elvin folded the paper and placed it inside the Wish Candle.
