chapter252
“I hope my family stays healthy.”
“I hope my career goes smoothly.”
“I hope I can meet a good man in the future.”
Looking at Bianca’s wishes, Elvin couldn’t hold back the smile at the corner of his mouth.
For the first wish, he figured as long as the Watts family gets regular check–ups, nothing major should happen.
As for the second wish, he could help her indirectly too.
And the third one, meeting a good man?
Wasn’t he that good man?
But how could he make Bianca believe he was that good man?
After pondering for a long time with his head down, Elvin suddenly spotted a fortune teller nearby.
Right then, an idea popped into his mind.
Elvin glanced back at Bianca once more. She stood among the crowd, utterly captivated by the acrobatics show.
So Elvin walked over to the fortune teller.
After some discussion, he transferred two thousand dollars to the man.

By then, the acrobatics had ended. Bianca turned around, scanning the area but finding no sign of Elvin.
Suddenly, a hand tapped her shoulder. “Looking for me,
sweetheart?”
Bianca whirled around to see Elvin spreading his palms. A necklace slipped from his hand.
He tilted his head, watching her with a warm, brilliant smile.
Her heart fluttered at his expression, but she quickly averted her gaze. “It’s late. Let’s head back.”
Seeing her move to leave, Elvin swiftly caught her wrist. “Stay a little longer.”
Bianca looked down at his grip on her arm, her dark eyes turning serious. “Let go first.”
“Then stay with me,” Elvin insisted.
Bianca gave a faint nod. “Fine.”
As his fingers released her, he pressed the necklace into her palm. “Saw it at a stall. Not worth much. Wear it if you like.”
Though rarely buying luxury items, Bianca recognized this was no cheap trinket.
Guilt tightened her chest. She held it back toward him. “Elvin, I can buy my own jewelry. I appreciate the thought, but you really shouldn’t.”
When she refused, Elvin retrieved the necklace.
His eyes darkened as he clenched it in his fist. “If you don’t want it, I’ll toss it.”

With that, he flung it forcefully into the distance.
Bianca stared at him, indignant. “Elvin, you-”
“You said you didn’t want it,” he replied flatly.
Her glare intensified. “Even if I refused, it cost money! How could you just throw it away?”
Seeing her agitation, Elvin finally smiled. “So do you want it or not?”
Bianca opened her mouth to refuse, but Elvin raised his hand. The necklace dangled from his fingers.
“Last chance. Yes or no?”
His eyes locked onto hers, deadly serious.
One more refusal, and he’d truly discard it.
Elvin always knew exactly how to corner Bianca.
Helpless, she relented. “Give it to me. I’ll keep it for you.”
At her words, Elvin placed the necklace in Bianca’s hand.
Once it was safely stored, they continued walking.
The crowd had thinned considerably now.
As they strolled down the street, an elderly man at a small table called out, “Miss, wait a moment!”
Bianca turned. The man wore a Long Robe, his beard streaked with gray and black.

At first glance, he radiated the aura of a reclusive master.
Bianca looked down at the old man, pointing at herself in confusion as she asked, “Are you calling me?”
The old man stroked his beard and said, “Take a seat. I’ll tell your fortune.”
Bianca declined with a smile, “No need.”
Seeing her refusal, the old man added, “Don’t worry, I won’t scam you.
No payment if my reading’s inaccurate.”
