chapter253
Bianca wanted to refuse again, but Elvin nudged her and said, “Sit down. Let’s hear what he has to say.”
The old man chimed in, “Exactly. Just think of it as chatting with someone about your worries.”
Bianca found herself persuaded by their back–and–forth.
So she sat down at the small table.
After asking for Bianca’s birth details, the old man began his calculations.
A few minutes later, he announced, “You’re in medicine, miss, but haven’t achieved much yet. Still, success follows you like a halo. Given time, you’ll become remarkable. As for your current marriage…” He paused, “It’s actually an obstacle on your path. This relationship drains your spirit and energy. The longer it lasts, the more exhausted you’ll become. Better cut it clean like slicing tangled hemp.”
“Your destiny shows three children. Firstborn’s a daughter. The second and third?” He shook his head. “Not with your current husband. That first child already consumes your vitality. Rather than deplete yourself, become hands–off. As for your family–all good–hearted people, your sister–in–law included. But you must maintain harmony, or you’ll suffer physical and emotional wounds.”
Bianca sat frozen, listening. How could he know so much? Does this old man truly have insight?
Elvin stood nearby, nodding approvingly at the reading before turning

expectantly to Bianca.
Bianca remained dumbfounded yet increasingly curious about her future relationships.
Noticing her interest, the old man asked, “Am I right, miss?”
Instead of answering, Bianca questioned, “You said I’ll have two more children?”
He nodded. “Indeed.”
Bianca glanced at Elvin, tilting her chin up. “Could you step away for a moment?”
Elvin frowned. “Something I shouldn’t hear?”
“It’s private,” she replied.
محمد
Hearing this, Elvin compromised. “Alright then.” He might miss this now, but he’d learn eventually.
Only after Elvin walked away did Bianca turn back to the old man. “Can you see who my future husband is?”
The old man closed his eyes for another calculation. Stroking his beard, he looked meaningfully at her. “I can’t say much, but he’s been with you for years. You’ve even promised to marry him.” Leaning forward, he added, “And right now, he’s right beside you.”
Bianca stiffened, her gaze snapping to Elvin’s retreating figure–now just a distant silhouette.
But if he’s beside me now… isn’t that Elvin?
At this moment, Bianca’s gaze toward Elvin grew complicated.

If it was truly as the old man said–that Elvin would be her future husband–how could that be?
They had so few ties between them; they weren’t even friends.
Recalling this, Bianca smiled faintly and told the old man, “Thank you for your fortune–telling, but I don’t believe in these things.”
With that, she rose to leave, but the old man stroked his beard and said meaningfully, “Young lady, some people are destined in your life. You share a bond that can’t be escaped. Instead of fighting fate, accept its design–you’ll find happiness sooner.”
Bianca heard him but said little, only asking, “How much do I owe you?”
The old man replied, “My reading didn’t resonate with you, so I charge nothing.”
Bianca ignored him, leaned over, and scanned to pay him 100 dollars.
After paying, she meant to go, but the old man called after her,
“Persistence is pointless, miss. The one you seek is Elvin. There’s no one else for you.”
Bianca heard his words but didn’t respond, walking away alone.
Elvin turned, saw her leaving, and chased after her.
“What’s wrong?”
Seeing Bianca’s icy expression, Elvin couldn’t help asking.
Bianca halted, turned back, and stared at Elvin for a long moment. She studied his face, unable to recall any bond between them–let alone promises she’d made.
